Sorry John,

I have to disagree with you on this one. When you post an item and say OBO that means Or Best Offer. It is then up to the seller to either accept an offer or not. Why would I want to offer more money for a used item than I would pay for a new item that is a newer updated model. As you can see I did not bash his asking price but made an offer and gave the reasons why I would only pay $50.00. My offer is a legitimate offer based on what I think a used model is worth.

You can make a best offer via PM, but that's just me. I don't think it's cool to make a best offer then tell everyone they can buy a newer model or this model for less online new.

Anyway, to each his own. No ill will intended.

Sudden: It sure felt like you were bashing my price. And yes it seems I have missed the mark on the price for the camera. I wasn't aware that they were being whored out so cheap online. I paid retail just a few weeks ago.
In no way did I intend to pull a quick one on another THT member.
FWIW I was planning on making a pin rig/mutu purchase from you but needless to say I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Camera is no longer available, Thread Closed.

John: thank you.

Hey, it is not my fault if you paid to much for the camera. When buyers come on here to purchase items they do their research and know what items cost. When you try to sell a used item with no warranty for more than what you can buy a new one for people are going to point it out. No one said you were trying to pull a quick one on THT members but it was quite obvious you did not do your homework on pricing before you posted it. My offer was a legitimate offer for a used piece of electronics with no warranty.

I'm surprised a Moderator hasn't chimed in yet. I'm just saying that I didn't believe commentary on one's price is allowed in this forum.

X 2 It's a respect thing

A seller's asking price is never "too high." The price of anything for sale is between the seller and the buyer; if you're not the buyer, do not post in the thread expressing your displeasure with the seller's asking price. Price bashing may result in banning.

If you believe the OP is out of bounds or doing something inappropriate, send an alert and the moderators will respond OR send a PM to the OP advising them of your concerns.

Those who decide someone else's ad is a good place in which to post their own ad will find themselves banned.

Neither is bumping your own thread in order to get it to the top which the seller did twice on this post. I made a legitimate "Best Offer" on the item for what I thought it was worth.

I never said the price was to high. I did give the seller the reasons for the price of my offer which is within my right as a potential buyer. It is up to the seller to accept the offer or not. There is a reason the post was up for six days with no replies!!!

I'm on the fence with this thread. Madison makes his point that it isn't cool to bash somebody's product or price. Sudden makes his point that the asking price is way overboard compared to street values.

Whether the OP bought it at full list a few weeks ago is unknown.

I thought that Sudden's offer and commentary was made legitimately. He offered a good bit less than the OP's asking price, and then backed up the reasons for his offer. That's cool.

There are rare occasions when members put something up for sale in hopes of selling for a higher-than-normal price. If one of us bashes his price, that falls into Madison's area.

However, if one of us makes an offer to buy based on what he knows about the market, that's cool. The OP could have sold the unit or made a counter-offer.

Whether he paid too much or has his feelings ruffled are regrettable, but not worth worrying about.
