Default WTB: Tuna Tubes

Anybody have any in good shape that they aren't using?

Yeah that was my original idea but I guess he is having some issues in his life right now so he isn't sending me the set I purchased in November. Somehow it just fell apart right after I paid. They seemed really nice too, it's a shame that I won't get them. I just went ahead and bought a pair of the regular style ones.

Really? I'm surprised. Everything I have seen points to Jay as being a straightforward guy. Maybe the person building them went off the radar. jbg108 is not hard to track down on this site - have you had contact with him?

Yes. It isn't him that's MIA it's his friend that builds them.

I bought a set from them. Hopefully they work out... not exactly what I was looking for but we'll see.

The reason I wanted those other ones is because I wanted to leave them inside the boat, and not mount them on the transom. But I think I am going to try to mount these ones on my ladder bracket.

Sounds good - will be interested to see pics. I think those original ones would still have been wet on-board unless they had a lid you could close.

Did you see Larry's Tuna Tank?

I did, but I read that it doesn't work so well. The original ones had a overflow pipe so I think the water would have drained right into my splash well, but who knows maybe it wouldn't have worked out that way. I know they put a good amount of water through and I'm planning on using my wash down pump for the supply so it might have overflowed the other tubes over the drain. If these don't work well on the ladder mount I might get something and build a box similar to that other set.

I fished on a boat several years ago that had a set of tuna tubes that mounted on the transom with large suction cups. They were a pretty slick set-up, but I unfortunately don't know who made them.
