I know you are looking for a trade but if you haven't run a set of B-5's that will be an option for you also as they run just like the C-4's will. I went from c5's to b5's and never looked back.

Thanks man, I will look into it. I am running a 200hp diesel, and prop chart for diesels shows C-series only...B-series props are for gasoline motors

FS there is only one diesel motor (your KAD 42/43/44) on the chart for B-series props, rest are gasoline motors.... see PDF @ this link:

Not correct, both B and C series props can be run with diesels.......B's are aluminium and C's are Stainless in material.
The only thing is that the numbers between the two are not the same....going from memory here a B3 is not the same as the C3, it is closer to a C2, so a B4 is close to a C3 etc.

I did a lot of work on my props trying both B's and C's before I sold my Volvo diesel two years ago but I'm sure the B - C prop relationship still stands today.

BTW, if anyone is interested in going to stainless, I have a set of C2 props that have been professionally modified to be the equivalent of a B2 set, you can't buy these off the shelf as Volvo doesen't offer this size.

Bit hard to explain so I hope this has made sense to you.

Tony

How many RPM's would be gained by switching from C5 to C4?

How many RPM's would be gained by switching from C5 to B5?

Thanx, Dave.

Not sure that is will be the same but C5 to B5 on my old boat was 200-300 rpm increase and C5 to C4 should be the same.

I have a C5 front and a B2 front in my attic if anyone needs a spare.
