Default 2001 Mercury 40hp 4 Stroke, tiller, 20" shaft, $2000

Motor was first comissioned for the 2002 season. Fresh water use only. Electric start, tiller operated, gas assist t&t. All service performed, new impeller and ower unit oil prior to winterization. Motor was on a trailered boat and has seen very light use. A few nicks on the cowling but other than that the motor is like new. $2000 OBO, Located in Westport CT.

Can it be converted to remote steering/throttle?

Thanks.

Motor is 3 cyl, 3 carb. Convesrion to remote from tiller is a matter of removing the tiler arm and a plate that holds down the wiring harness and throttle cables and perhaps buying a rubber grommet/seal and a piece that holds the shift/throttle cables in place. You'll need to buy control cables and a binnacle or side control.
