Default Need - Trailer for 23 SeaCraft

I live in NJ.

I am picking up a 1972 23' SeaCraft. Between the boat, gas and engines (twin 200 HP Yamaha's) and Armstrong bracket I am figuring that I will need a trailer that can support around 5,200 pounds.

I would probably prefer a roller style but will not turn up my nose at a bunk style if it is priced right.

I am looking to make a quick deal for the right trailer at a fair price. Trailer needs to be ship shape. By that I mean the lights should work and the bearing should be in decent shape.

Thanks for looking.

Peter

Peter,

I have a 1974 23SF CC with twin 200 Mercs. With about 20gal of fuel, no water, no gear, and sitting on a tandem galvanized trailer, it weighs in at 5900lbs.

Thanks Trey

Here is how I get my weights

hull - 2,700 pounds (this is according to both nada and my old SeaCraft catalog)
150 gallons of gas - 950 pounds
twin engines & armstrong bracket - 1,000 pounds
other - 300+ pounds

peb3,

I too have a 23' SeaCraft and needed a good trailer. I would recommend that you go with a bunk, you will be very happy that you did, less BS to screw up.

I bought a new tandem axle Loadmaster rated at 7000# gvwr, stainless hardware, silver cad Kodiak disc brakes on both axles, spare tire /w mount, forward support bunks and an extended tounge for $3,600. You can fewer options and save some cash.... See East Coast Trailer on this site, it is a great trailer.

I have a 2001 Magic Tilt that I might be selling. I currently have my 22' Pursuit sitting on it. It is an aluminum bunk in good shape. Are you interested? I have not thought about the price as I just decided to sell it.

So, here is the information on the trailer that I have for sale.

2002 Magic Tilt Model 2252 6000 GVWR
Aluminum Bunk
Stainless Hardware Package
Front Bunks
Torsion Drop Axles
Sure Lube Hubs
Surge Drum Brakes on Front Axle
Spare Tire With Mount

I bought the trailer new in 2002 and have clear title in VA. The trailer has been well maintained including a trip to the dealer at the start of the season each year for inspection and any needed service. The trailer is for sale because I own two trailers for this boat.

Brakes seem to need service at the start of each season but other than that the trailer has been problem free.

Maintenance last year included five new Goodyear Marathon Radials and new tail lights.

As I recall the trailer cost between $3500 and $4000 when new. The other 2006 trailer that I have for the boat cost over $4000 when new. Checked the NADA site for value and the high retail was $2990. The prices that I checked on other used trailers were all over the place. Based on my research $2500 seems like a fair price. Let me know what you think.

That seems like a good deal for someone who lives relatively close to you. Good luck. I am sure that it will go quickly.
