Default SOLD-Hydraulic steer pump New!!-SOLD

Brand new never installed Teleflex Sea star hydraulic steering pump. 1.7 1000psi max pressure. This is the pump only. The tilt mechanism is in use (see below for that story)
$400obo.

We broke the tilt mechanism on our steering wheel and I ordered a whole new assembly before I realized that all we needed was the tilt mechanism. Needing the assembly right then I took it off of the new pump. Obviously Andy at SIM would not take back pieces of the original part so I figured I would post it here.

The pump is a closed system with respect to the tilt mechanism nothing has been touched as far as its function is concerned. I am sure it is under warranty and I can provide all purchase information. Let me know if you have questions.
Thanks!

Saw this and thought I would let you know that you can buy the whole HH5741 assembly like you had for $320 on Ebay for Buy IT Now and they have been selling for between $200-$300 at auction for the whole mechanism at auction and they are new. Good luck with the sale.

I paid just under $600 for the pump and tilt mechanism so $400 seemed like a good starting point for the pump. I looked on ebay but could not find the this pump for anywhere close to $320. I must be missing something. Post a link if you would. If anyone is interested please make an offer. I got quite a to do list for the boat. I am ready to move it.

Not to hijack a hijacked thread but can the tilt mechanism be added to an existing helm? I have the non tilt helm and purchased the entire helm/tilt mechanism not know you may be able to add the tilt mechanism to an existing helm. Is it possible?

That's not why I asked. I simply want to know if the tilt mechanism can be added to an existing helm. If so, then I'll hold on to the non tilting helm I yanked out and will use it as a spare.

Not really sure? Ask Andy with SIM her would know. I don't see why not just need the 4 mounting holes.
We considered this on our 242 but I was afraid it would put the wheel to close to the seat and cause some interference issues with the captain.

I didn't do a extensive research but I found this one Buy Now at 349$ brand new

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SeaSt...53066933QQrdZ1
THis is not the same unit I have. My pump is just like the one pictured in the ebay post for $509.
Since you don't like my pricing what would you suggest?

Plus the tilt steering creates a problem in the back of the helm with respect to clearance. I need to add some starboard which will pull the wheel out even closer to the captain. But this is because I am adding an autopilot and there are Tee connections which need to go into the back of the unit.

Tilt helm pump will only work with the tilt helm. pump shaft is not tapered.
and yes they are out there but not common.

As a side note have you contacted Teleflex directly about the broken tilt mech.? I bet you would be surprised by their warranty repair service. They have been known to repair items at no cost that are long out of warranty. Teleflex has THE best customer service. you can never haver to many spares. Rather than openly criticizing some ones price in an open forum why not PM them with an offer. Price is subject to need, both the seller and buyers.

Iwill admit that we screwed up on this one. Hind site being 20/20 I should have taken the old one apart before ordering the new one and realized what was broken and ordered that part only. Unfortunately my brother and father broke it while I was out of town. The console was not secure and a gust of wind caught it while driving down i95 and slammed the wheel into the leaning post breaking the wheel off and breaking the mechanism into about 20 pieces. They assumed all was lost. Dad gave me his credit card number, I called Andy at SIM and got a new one. Yes I paid about $70 more from Andy than I could have bought it from ebay BUT he is worth it. No scamming, told he how to install it and got it to my house in time not to miss a fishing trip, well worth the difference at that point. This part is unused and brand new.

If you feel my price is to high please make an offer.

Thanks!

Hey Scoutin,

Was not trying to hijack your sale or get everyone pissed but here is exactly what I was talking about. Bid starts at $320 with buy it now at $355 for the whole system. I was just trying to help you to see what the price would be and maybe you could figure what it might sell for without the cover and steering wheel connector. It is going to be hard to sell it unless someone needs a backup to their existing pump as replacing the missing parts drives the price above what you can find them for. Good Luck.

Man, have you got issues...... Hey, and one more thing, YOU asked me to post a link. I posted the link as you requested. Sorry if it made you mad. That was not my intention and yes I should have sent you a PM.

So, I will own up to the mistake and say I apologize and I really hope you sell it and get a great price. I don't like people to hijack threads and bash people and it appears that I have committed at least one of those violations.

To everyone here.....I again say that I did what I get pissed at others for and my intention was to help Scoutin price the item. I instead hijacked the thread and it should not have happened. Whether he asked for the link or not, it was stupid on my part and so I am apologizing to all responders here. This forum is great for information and it should be great for selling your items free from stupid a## interference from posts like I left.

I will not repeat this action again and Scoutin, I hope it goes on Ebay for a big price.
