Default SOLD! '96 Ocean Pros 225HP (pair) SOLD!

***Sold To A1 Outboard***Does anyone on here have an interest in this set of 1996 OMC counter-rotating Ocean Pros? Here's the history on them.
They were bought in late '96 and were commissioned until the summer '97. They were put on a 28 Topaz which was converted from twin big blocks to these outboards. They were personally run by me probably 90% of the time so I know their background. They've been to South Florida & back twice (40 hours each way) and the rest of the time they have been on the Chesapeake rockfishing & cocktail cruising. I think it would be inpossible to try to get the hours over 500. A realistic guess would be between 350 & 400. They were painted to match the boats hull color. The only problem they ever had was 1 VRO pump was replaced. Nothing Else has ever been done to them except tune-ups & lower unit oil changes. To be honest, the water pumps have never been changed because the pressure on the gauges was always good. They were rinsed after every run & the boat was stored on a lift.
The gauges & switches for 2 stations are included,as are the oil tanks & engine documentation. The Stainless props are being used as spares on the new E-tecs but if helped make the deal I guess they could be included.
They have been stored inside a climate controlled building in Virginia ever since they were removed 2 years ago. They were in excellent condition when they were removed.
They ought to be worth $4000!
Somebody buy these things so the marina owner can have his corner of the building back!
These are 30" shaft models,also,btw.

UPDATE: March 9...$3500 will take them & maybe get someone on the water this spring!

These are 4 strokes, right?
I think the technical term is called "fractional 4 strokes" which equates to:4 stroke divided by 2 stroke=2 stroke!
Why don't you buy them & put 1 on each of your Whalers...we'll test the "unsinkable legend" motto!

Hi Boomerang-

Are these motors still available? If so, has anyone done a compression check on them? What part of the Chesapeake are you in?

Thanks

Looks like a hell of a deal, although twin 30 inch shafts are unusual. You can pay for a lot of fuel and oil when you have 450 hp for only 3500. You can not get a new 50 hp 4 stroke for that.

Makes me want to find a hull in need of power.

The engines are still for sale. Blue Star,no compression check has ever been done on them but I'm sure they're OK. They are in storage at a marina in Irvington,VA.
