No clicker, just like the others in this class. I begged, but to no avail. The electronic ones are inaudible on a moving boat.

Otherwise, fine.

Here is an unsolicited report from a new owner of a 1500TM. Had a chance to try it out the other day for the first time dropping for tilefish in 500-600 feet of water using 4-5 lbs of lead. Not the more severe test of daytime swordfishing that I hope to give it later in the season but a good field trial. The reel is a pleasure to use. The controls are simple and positive. The high retrieve speed cranked up the baits for checking in well under a minute. With two 20 lb tile fish on at once on the first drop, the reel switched back and forth between low and high speed automatically a couple of times but mostly stayed in high speed, suggesting it had plenty of power in reserve. In fact, I switched to low speed only for fear the high speed retrieve would pull the hooks from the fish. The motor housing did not even get warm to the touch. The sound coming from the motor was not at all labored. All in all, so far I am extremely pleased with the performance. I really don't think this reel will have any problem handling much bigger fish.

Taking mine out on Saturday for the first time for Golden Tile Fish / Snowy Grouper. James thanks for taking my call the other day and going over the reel with me. Can't wait to give it a shot.

Loving my Banax TM-1500. Fished it with a buddies new K1000 this Saturday. Caught some fished and loved the K1000 so much I ordered one of those too. The reels are fantastic, but nothing compared to James customer service. Hands down the best in the business. Here some photos of my tm-1500 this past weekend. Dont hesitate to get one of these bad boys. You will love it.

whats the cost spooled with 65lbs braid and what brand braid are you spooling them with? I will only use a 60' 250lbs wind on.

Spooling for 65# is around $100 to $120, depending on the braid and amount spooled.
I stock Momoi Diamond and Tufline XP solid core braids.

Here's a snowy we pulled up off Ramrod Key in the Lower Florida Keys on Sunday 6/23/19. I bought a Banax 1000 spooled with 65# braid 2 years ago. I also bought the "deep dropper" rod which is a perfect match for this combo. The reel has been flawless.

Absolutely no regrets with this purchase. I'm building a "upgrade fund" right now, so for those that are asking I will likely sell my Banax 1000 rig to put towards the 1500TM. Not to hijack the thread, so please PM me for details.

I have the 1500 TM. Can anyone tell me what the knob on the left side of the reel does?

A friend and myself are wanting some electric reels for fishing in approximately 180' catching triggers and other fish. It seems the 500 would be the best choice for that?

It adds resistance to the free spool to help prevent backlash.
