Arrow * * NEW * * - Deep Drop Rig - The EXTREME "X" Model

**NEW** DEEP DROP RIGS – Heavy “X” Model

NOTE: THESE ARE SPECIFICALLY FOR HUNTING LARGE DEEP TILES AND GROUPER = WEIGHT AND JAWS

After several requests, I’m now making a rig that’s a spin-off of the Deep Grouper Rig. Fellas I build for are having lots of success with beast Tiles and other DEEP Grouper and these are built ultra-strong and ultra-large for that task.

I couldn’t help but name these after XFernal (here on THT), ergo the “X” model. In particular, the coated cable was specifically made for Wreckfish for him. The glow squid and deep belly hooks seem to be a great solution. I know many fellow fisherman who are now in the 50lb plus Tile club with these type rigs.

Of particular note, these B2 glow squid are the highest glow. Colors, IMHO, are meaningless at extreme depth and more for the fisherman than the fish.

SPECIFICS:
  • These have the same heavy duty 3-way swivels, barrels and snaps as my “Deep Grouper/Snowy Rigs”
  • Main line is 400lb (Option for heavy coated cable as add-on cost)
  • Branch line is 300lb
  • Branches have added glow sleeve for extra protection and stiffness
  • 5.5” B2 Glow Squid of highest glow
  • Mustad 39960D 14/0 or 16/0 (other options available)
Please contact me directly with any questions. As always, I'm happy to customize, swap and/or add hooks etc.

Order 3 or more rigs and receive a FREE deep drop light. Your choice of Green, Blue or Multi (leave note at checkout in "customer Notes")

If these are anything like your other rigs, there’s no doubt that they can stand up to anything. Count me in for 2 sets of 3 and blue lights. I’d like a dozen of each color lights as well. Doug’s gear is truly bulletproof. Keep up the great work sir.

These rigs work. I solely fished this rig yesterday and caught some nice Snowy Grouper, Blueline Tilefish, Amberjacks, and Sharks.

This was the largest Snowy Grouper of the day.

Too much current in the deep on Saturday, so drifted the rig over a wreck and caught African Pompano. So they work in the "shallows" as well.
