I have a suz 250 and had MoB system installed this spring. Was fully tested after the instillation. If i walk away from the boat that in a slip the alarm sounds and turns engine off so i know it works correctly. Problem Ithat im having is sometimes it cuts off while idling. Happen yesterday when i was trolling and puting out lines in tbe water with my back turned. It happens at least once per trip. Suggestions?

I've run into the same issue. It occurred on multiple trips over the past 2 weeks. I pushed the fob button and that allowed the engine to restart. It occurred both while trolling slowly and moving at cruising speed. There is nothing easy to troubleshoot since I did not experience a problem the last 2 times out? However it is interesting to hear of someone else that had the same issue. At first I thought I might have mistakenly pushed the fob button on my wristband. But I know for sure that was not the case on a couple of the occasions. The unit was installed in April and seemed to work perfect for the first few months.

I gave up. replaced the fob, replaced the battery, did all of the trouble shooting I was supposed to do and it will work fine for 1-2 trips and then it malfunctions again. I connected the cable in the back that bypasses it and stopped using it.

I talked with the tech support at Fell Marine and they have been very helpful. I'm waiting for a replacement part to hopefully resolve the issue. So far, tech support has been easily reachable and very responsive.

I had the same issues. I changed the fob batteries, bought a new fob, wired direct to battery to rule out power issues. Still would randomly kill the motors, once at 55mph.

FELL has excellent customer service and sent me a whole new unit. Problem went away for a few months and recently this unit started doing the same thing. I again changed all the batteries, made sure power supply was perfect, but no go. I have decided to disconnect the device and not use it any longer.

Have mine running flawlessy for two years. If not weak FOB-battery I’m thinking interference. Maybe from a VHF or other sending device? Was the FOB placed near a loudspeaker (magnetic interference)? Sounds like the hardware works but the signal is blocked... Just my 2 cents.

Unfortunately my system is doing the same thing now after working well for a couple of years. It consistently triggers if I turn my back at certain spots in the cockpit on my Grady 330 express. Wondering what the possible fixes
are? For now am bypassing.

I installed the Fell mob to my Yamaha 9.9 kicker motor and my F250. 3 times in two days the 9.9 kicker shut down. I called Fell Marine.
Great customer service, pleasant attitude and will make it right. He sent me a MOB+ external extension antenna (no charge). thinking the signal broke, even me being only 12' from the MOB+ behind the dash inside the cabin.
I installed the antenna from behind the dash and peeled the tape and stuck it to the top of my inside cabin window frame. After many days on the water it works great. Just got back from a solo 164 mile (52 miles out) albacore fishing trip. and felt.safe.
Thanks Fell Marine I am sending you the $11.49 plus some shipping money.

I had a similar issue several years back. Fell support was great. Turned out it was self inflicted. Loose connection after a dashboard refresh. Like anything else on a boat, if it can get loose,it will get loose....

Also, if your manual lanyard is still connected, that is a point of failure to look at. On my boat, I kept the lanyard as a back up and installed a stdp bypass switch to completely remove the Fell switch from the loop and allow me to go "old school" if I have issues with the Fell switch as you are experiencing. So far, I have only used it once when the low battery alarm from the fob was distracting me. I found out that fob battery life is not great unless I get into the habit of killing the motor from the fob and then turning the ignition off when shutting down. This is an issue if you power the fell from the ignition wire. Otherwise, the Fell is an awesome product

All I can say is that PAUL is great. I am on my third unit, three different boats. When ever I have had an issue they have been there to help.
I would not hesitate to have it added to any boat
thanks

+1 for Paul. Had the same issue as being discussed here, and after helping me troubleshoot, Fell sent a replacement unit out quickly. Knock wood, still going strong...
