Default Kodiak Conversion from Tiedown G5 Brakes

I am currently running Tiedown G5 12" disc brakes on my tandem axle trailer. I have read that the Kodiak Disc brakes weather better and last longer. Can I replace one axle now with Kodiak Disc brakes and still run the Tiedown on the other axle or do I have to replace both axles at the same time? Thank you

I also am using the Tie Down 9.6" G-5 SS part# 82091 disk brakes with 14' wheels on my tandem LoadRite trailer and can not get more than one season out of them before the pads fail and score the rotors. I have surge braking system and float my boat in salt water. I want to change over to the Kodiaks to give them a try. Good move? What would be a cross reference number for the Kodiak, K2R35DS? Is this normal for all surge brakes?

The newer TieDown ceramic pads are noticeably better than the older ones. The yellow ones have ss backing plates too. What's wrong w/a lifetime warranty on the pads? I didn't realize they came w/one until I saw your pic of the box. I've got the TD Eliminator series and they've treated me well. I replaced the caliper/pads/rotors after 4 years mainly bc the pads were shot and the rotors had some minor scoring. The whole kit wasn't that much more than the components I needed.

One of the most common complaints with Tie Down G5 brakes is scored rotors and it eating pads up. And according to Tie Down (Dexter Marine Of Georgia) it is normal wear? My best recommendation is to go with a Dac/SS or SS slip overs from Kodiak or DeeMaxx.
