Default Cruise to Cuba, inside cabin?

My wife wants to take a cruise to Cuba via Ft. Lauderdale with our 2 girls. Never been on a cruise before and assuming an inside cabin won't kill as long as we just sleep in it, or am I way wrong?

I don't even know the cruise line at this point, just looking for some quick feedback to see if inside is a deal breaker.

Ditto. Great preview of your eternity in a coffin.
That said, it's better than not cruising at all. Newer ships, bigger ships have larger inside cabins with a lot more storage.Be sure to split the beds into twins.

I think cruises are lame as crap. Might as well just check into a local motel 6 if you are in an indoor cabin. Take your own boat to cuba

Inside cabins are "Cheap and Good"

I like them ... 'cause I'm poor ...

Yes you are right, but you will have no cool view from the bed, no balcony and depending on the cabin, it can be a coffin experience.

Meh. Doesn't bother me as long as it's just to get from A to B. We took an overnight ferry (a crappy old cruise ship) from Italy to Croatia. Stayed up top long enough to watch the sunset, enjoy some drinks, then it was to our bunk until ~6am and up top to watch the sunrise approaching Split.

Now, if I were going on "a cruise", I wouldn't want to stay in an interior room.

A fishing buddy took a cruise with an "ocean view" directly outside his window was a life boat, unless he was standing at the window he could see nothing but boat the whole time.

I'm thinking Fort Lauderdale to Key West, to Cuba and back can't be that bad, Thanks for the tips, will check on which ship it is and then we'll see about airfares.

NCL? I would recommend booking thru a TA, mine saves me hundreds of dollars each cruise

I guess if you didnít know the difference you might not really care. The problem I have with inside cabins is that besides being ďinsideĒ they are very tight. Think flying on a flight where you canít move much and the seat in front of you is crushing your legs! For 4 of you you will probably have the swing down beds, which the kids will think are cool until they have to go to the bathroom! Not having a window did not bother me as much as the cramped space. But your trip is short and if youíve never been on a cruise I say go for it.

Been on 7 cruises, the first 5 were inside rooms. I don't have a problem with them as much as my wife does.
if you have any cruise questions, go to cruisecritic.com. ANY Question you have has probably been answered dozens of times if not hundreds. Literally hundreds of thousands of people have posted on the many forums. It is a huge forum.

We’ve done a bunch of cruises, almost 2 dozen. Unless you get a suite or other “special” room, they are all pretty much the same size. Inside rooms are cheaper, darker and cooler. Outside rooms usually have some sort of view, a place for smokers, and run 30-50% more.

Typically speaking, the lower in the ship you go, the cheaper. They usually start 3-400 per person for a week and it goes up about $100 a floor, and $100+ more on the same floor for a outside/balcony room

we don’t smoke, and turn in early, usually exhausted from what ever we did that day, so a ice cold, blacked out room is awesome for us.

Inside cabins suck! Tried it once, never, ever again. It’s like being in a broom closet.

It's not that much more expensive to get a balcony. "Ocean view" is worthless, you get a little tiny porthole. Get the Balcony.

All honesty, why Cuba?

Go to Bermuda instead.

Are you going to go to the communist seminars to go on the island? Whatís the purpose of going there? Curious. As I understand you cannot disembark without attending them.

From someone whose at a very high tier on RCCL, you have to Ďstartí somewhere. Itís a process, start off in the inner staterooms then move up. But once you go balcony you wonít go back.

Nothing better than sitting nude on your balcony watching the sunset

I haven't been on a cruise in over 10 years. I do know at the time, if you select certain sea view rooms on carnival they would list if there was an obstruction. Also, some royal Caribbean boats have interior rooms with a view of the inside mall .

Tons of cruise destinations - why help support a communist government?

Cruise equals a long boat ride to a place I donít care to see, with 3500 other people I donít want to be with.
