Or maybe just a light blue dress. He did say he was trying to change it up.

The wedding shirt shouldn't have your name on it

All depends on which Hooters the wedding is at. If it is on the water, you will probably want to class it up. If it is a Central Florida Hooters then jeans shorts and a concert shirt from the late 70s.

If you want to appear to be the wait staff - then wear your "outfit" with pride.

Do some of you guys not own summer weight suits? How can you live in subtropical climates and not?

Pick a summer weight suit, in basically any color not black or navy, any material but wool. Then add simple white shirt, and whatever you want for your shoes. If on beach skip the socks. Tie optional if daytime.

what one wears to court or a funeral. Different tie though. Weddings fall under the funeral category.

Anyonone have an opinion on this mundane subject?
All of could think of was D'Annunzio from Caddyshack.

Get yourself a cotton summer suit, light khaki or tan. No tie, get a Lily Pulitzer pocket square for some color, brown shoes...no socks.

A suit you say? Not only own a suit, but own multiple suits and suits for different seasons. Holy shit, you guys are fancy. Way fancy.

My best bud had me in his wedding 2 years ago up in British Colombia. He went ahead and just rented a suit for me as he knew I wouldn't rent a suit or show up with one.

His lady was furious when they realized I went to Canada and his wedding without any shoes. She actually asked to look through my truck as she didn't believe anyone would go to a wedding, let alone travel to another country for one and not have any shoes with them. They only rented the suit, not shoes.

She just didn't understand my theory that shoes are for suckers.

dude, you gave it away when you said........."...ironed plain white dress shirt". You don't iron them unless you've kissed the bride to be, right?
