Default Cajon...anyone play?

Was at a friends house the other night, they asked me to bring my guitar...the wife said her husband bought a new instrument and wanted to play along with me. It was a cajon, and we had a blast with it.

My wife is half Peruvian and insists that it be one like the authentic Peruvian style cajon without the snare, but I like the snare. This one seems to fit the bill and make both of us happy.

Anyone else?

Local bar has an acoustic guitar player accompanied by a cajon player on the deck. Cajon has a snare, and the player sometimes uses brushes, felt covered sticks or just his hands to get a lot of different sounds out of a wood box.

had Montgomery Gentry or half of them, (Troy) stop at a campground we were at one time.
they set up an acoustic thing in the rec room, the drummer came out with a cajone, was very good and it sounded great.

been trying to get my girlfriend to play one ever since. she used to be a drummer (aspiring anyway)

got to talk with them for a while, they loved our bulldog.

Messed around with them in guitar center. Cool instruments, like a scaled down drum set minus the cymbals. Mix it with a djembi ( I think that's what they are called) and kick pedal for some bass and it's good to go.
