The neighbor of a friend of mine loves to MOD all their vehicles. They have a Hennessey 600 Raptor AND a 800/850 Raptor (not sure the HP but it's the only one they built). The 600 has crazy suspension and they built a 4-5 ft jump on their property and launch the dam thing!

They also have a 1,000 HP cobra (kit car) and bought a military surplus Hummer to screw around in........these people have a runway and 2 small planes. The military occassionally does night stops there for training. When they come in/take off they are a couple hundred feet over my buddies house and scare the crap out of them in the middle of the night.

Ex-business partner of mine had them mod a Mercedes AMG S model. Thing is, it was a LEASED car..... didn't turn out so hot for him, but the car was bad to the bone.

I do seem to recall that there have been a few misc complaints about them for work not performed though, a bit of google detective work should give you more details. Not sure whether these complaints have been resolved or not.

my advice is on a Ford product I would see about going through one of the dealers listed on their site

he had some clear issues in the early 2000s that were well known and he got past them and had partners that kept him in check and a hold of the purse strings

just some quick reading it looks like back in 2016 he had a partner/managing partner leave and things got rough again

but here he is 3 years later and the large property the company is on is no longer for sale (who knows if it is owned free and clear or up the gills in debt or why it is no longer for sale)

it was said that the former partner/managing partner and the company were in a lawsuit, but there was never any record of that either

the reality is that in the industry he is in it is probably more rare for a company to not have issues and even a series of issues throughout their history....some on a larger or smaller scale, but it seems the more well known a company is and the more "out there" the owner is the more those rumors get people really fired up and get talked about and generally the less you ever hear any resolution

same goes for custom choppers and shit like that and it is probably 10X worse in performance boating

when at all possible buy something already built, something that has been out for a while and has many units delivered and never buy a first year model of anything and try to avoid being in the situation where the car has to be bought, delivered, and then started to be modified

Yep. You can buy a 2019 Ford F-150 with a Rousch supercharger, 36,000 mile factory warranty and 650 hp for $40,000. You won't wait a year to get one, either.

Had a buddy in Texas that had them build a Camaro for him. Car is in the 200mph plus club for the Texas mile. On my first ride with him, the car gave me tunnel vision.

John Hennessey is a crook, I would buy a roush over a Hennessy product any day of the week.

They a bad ass truck. I saw a dude with one at Karl Flamer Ford a few weeks back. Took a picture because I've never seen one. Then I ran into a guy at work that has a Callaway GM truck.
