Default Bob''s Watches - opinions on selling a watch

I'm thinking about selling my Rolex Sub to fund another project. I've thought about listing on Rolexforum and here but ran across Bob's Watches online.

Sounds pretty straightforward for the most part.

Anyone sell to them or have any opinions? I'm sure I'd get a better price selling on my own so I have to put some thought into that.

I had one once, and I put it on eBay. Within a few hours of listing it someone has messaged me their phone number on eBay and asked that I call them. The guy said he bought watches all the time, and wanted me to end the auction and he'd send me about $5k via paypal as a "gift" so no fees would be taken out, and when I got the money I just needed to mail him the watch. That's what I did, and it worked. Maybe you should list it on eBay and see if that guy emails you. Hell the guy could have been Bob for all I know...

I called them once for a 3 week old Rolex Explorer 2. They wanted to give me $5K. Then relist it for $7800.
Use the Rolex Forums instead IMO. Or here.

Thanks all. Guess I'll place it in the private classifieds and see if anyone is interested.

any thoughts on how best to handle payment and shipping? I've sold smaller fishing stuff here before with no issues but nothing of this level.

Bobs watches is right down the road from me. I bought my explorer ii from them. Great people and really easy to deal with. They are known as one of the go to used Rolex dealers.

I bought mine and my wife's "like new" Rolex Presidential from Bobs Watches.
Im also in So Cal and drove down to make the purchase in person.
we are very happy with the watches. Seriously like new.
super easy transaction. My only beef was they told me the watches were Factory Rolex serviced but they really aren't.
they send them to a Swiss trained watch guy in Utah.
The other thing about Bobs watches for selling. The buy and sell prices are listed but in my opinion, they rarely will give you the buy price listed. They subtract for any work needed.
I brought in a vintage Rolex Air King and my two tone sunbmariner to see what they would give me.
Needless to say, I didn't sell to them. I told them any less money and I'd be paying them to take them!

Sold a 1998 Rolex GMT ll a few months ago to Crown and Caliber after checking Bob’s and Tourneau. C and C was about 25% higher than the others.

Well I've posted it in the classifieds. I'll probably check out a few of the other suggestions as well. I owe some pics to a few that have inquired. Appreciate all the feedback. Thanks all
