Default Thud Pilots o Amazon Prime..a must see.

Just watched Thud Pilots on Amazon Video..

Winner of "Best Film" at the 2018 GI Film Festival San Diego, this edge-of-your-seat documentary exposes an air war where an elite band of brothers known as Thud Pilots fought and died receiving neither the country's support nor glory.

Do yourself a favor and watch this one.

Watched it last week, it was great. Plenty of brass balls to go around between the Thud pilots and the rescue crews that went in to get the ones who got shot down.

Read the book Thud Ridge....... very good.

I used to fly with a former F-105 guy that did 100 missions as a Wild Weasel!

Thanks for the head's up on the show....... I'll look it up.

BTW, if you ever get to stand next to a 105, you'll realize what a BIG jet it is!

Cool video.
One of my neighbors flew F4s and F100s in Vietnam. Super humble, nice guy. Great pilot too.
He’s been giving me some instruction on a new check out,

I passed the info about this video onto my dad. He's a retired USMC F-4 pilot (and a former Army Huey gunship pilot - it's a long story on his service transfer). I watched it. Great story.

Especially the Rescue Guys (PJs). They were the ones that sometimes had to drop down, pick you up, carry you back to the forest penetrator, and get you hoisted up.

When we were in training one of the PJs told us that if they had to come get us, we better have a broken leg, ‘cause if not, they were going to give you one! They were a lot like the Coasties: “ya gotta go out, but ya don’t gotta come back”
