The "Fat THTer" update...
A couple of weeks or so ago a thread I was involved in really got me thinking hard about my eating habits and overall health. Sometimes we just forget to step back and really survey ourselves. I made a decision then and there to cut out eating anything processed and to stick with healthier choices, skipping the carbs and focusing mostly on fruits and vegetables. I can say that since that point, I've dropped 6 pounds, which on my 200+ lb frame isn't much but a good start. I gave up the rum and beer, which sucked. I gave up breads, rice and pasta, which sucked. But...
1. I'm sleeping so much better than I used to... 2. My wife thinks its awesome that I'm losing weight... 3. My wallet has noticed a difference since I quit eating lunch out during the day and started bringing a small salad everyday instead... So to all of you self righteous, sanctimonious, preachy pricks out there that made me be honest with myself... well... thanks. |
A diet isn't real until you post on the internet/FB about it!
JK as a fellow tub of lard I commend your efforts  |

Wow....you really do fit your screen name!!!
Good for you on the pounds shed. I need to do the same. But a 6lb weight loss on me would be like a blue whale losing 100lbs. |
Way to go fat ass!  Very pretty wife.

Lad, I don't know know where ya been but I see you've won first prize!

And congrats on the weight loss...keep it up! 2. WeeKilt, you are way over-chicked (as am I). 3. Great job, but don't date try to take my run and beer from me. All else I could give a shit. |
I have to give you credit for coming on here and admitting this. Good luck. |
Make sure you throw some meat/protein in that diet. You will stay "fuller' and not get the hunger pains as often.
|
Yup, sticking with chicken and fish. Love fish so it’s not so hard. |
No.... Not The Rum.....
|
Well congrats to you and hope you reach your goal whatever it may be.
Piece of advice, don't mind the slow down, it will happen, first few pounds are easy as most studies show it may actually be a portion of water weight being shed first but keep at it, you will do great. 80% is lost in the kitchen, 20% in the gym. You got the major problem to weight loss working in your favor at this point. |
Great start OP. I am working on the same, down about 8 lbs so far. It’s like throwing a deck chair off the Titanic but its a start. I feel much better, even after just a week or so. I get on the Peloton everyday and just try to get 20 minutes in each day but the battle is definitely in choosing to eat better through the day. For me its less sugar, less or no carbs and some moderation in the booze. I am eating mostly proteins and greens. And I am drinking a ton of water |
Congrats on making a solid change to improve your health... it only gets better. I started a similar diet change the week before last Thanksgiving and am now down 40 lbs. I now feel like I am walking on the moon and am progressively increasing an active lifestyle that decreased over a long period. Forget about weight loss goals and focus on continuing to make good choices in food as well as activities to keep you moving. You have already figured out it takes planning ahead for shopping and meals, follow that same thought process to keep engaged in keeping physically active. You don’t need a gym membership or fitness equipment, just plan and do more of the things you love to do that require getting off the couch. I truly feel 10 years younger and there is no way I will ever go back. |
Congrats to the OP. I'm down 16 pounds using the same method. No alcohol, bread, rice, pasta, potatoes/.

Awesome!

Great job! don't loose hope and fall off the wagon when you hit the wall. Just power through it for a few weeks and you'll be back on.
