Default NPR Tiny Desk Videos.

Anyone into watching these. Never really used You Tube for music until I turned my garage into a man cave with TV and sound bar. They have up and coming and popular musicians come in and perform in a small office. I've been hooked on them................................

Yes! I was watching last night actually. Have seen both of the videos you posted. We have the same taste. You’ll like this one as well.

My daughter turned me on to them. From Tank and the Bangas to the Steep Canyon rangers to The Band's Visit. I love some of these.

And go to YouTube and watch the Band's visit
Its a Broadway show, completely enrapturing...

Strange timing with this thread. My Daughter has an internship at NPR in DC and was just home for the long weekend. She was telling me all about this and suggested I plan a visit around one of these Tiny desk concerts (which I had never heard of) so I am planning on it.

I was digging Margo Price until I saw her on NPR Tiny Desk. Her political hate expressed between each song ruined her for me. I'm sure she realized she was safe and in good company at NPR, no doubt.

Tyler Childers is a good Tiny Desk Concert, by the way.

You mean her political opinions that didn't align with your own.

I think that I have seen them all.

There are a number of other music series, similar to these on YouTube.
KEXP, paste studios NY are a few that come to mind. There are many many more.

and please take the politics downstairs. I’ll gladly address your concerns there

I've never heard of the Tiny Desk thing before but it looks like a good way to hear different stuff.

I don't really like listening to more than a few songs in a row by an artist. I usually pick a song I like and then see if there is a youtube mix connected. Hear some new, or at least, not so well known artists that way.

Than tiny desk may be good for you the clips are normally 15 minutes. Go to YouTube type in tiny desks and look for most viewed. A good way to start. Not only are there a bunck of unknowns on there some big performers have shown up too.

And KEXP out of Seattle has good but longer sets

2nd the kexp.org suggestion by north coast and Re-Bait.

If I remember correctly, you like a little bluegrass/country. Check out wncw studio b. Little radio station east of Asheville, NC.

Good stuff! Thanks for another channel to ''waste'' a night away on!

Got to see Derek Trucks when he was in his early teens at a place called the Junkyard in Casselberry Fl. Kid could shred it back then!

Well, duh.

I listen to musicians for their music, not their political messages between songs. Why isolate half of your audience?

Here are 17 Tiny Desk performers that were Grammy winners just this year: https://www.npr.org/2019/02/11/69348...-the-tiny-desk

Fantastic Negrito won his second Grammy since he was on Tiny Desk. I've seen him twice in the last couple of years and the third time will be Saturday; some of the best live performances I've ever seen.

If you want to hear different stuff, check this thread out. The more familiar stuff is at the front. The more unknown stuff starts around post #500 or so.
Songs that Beg to be cranked!!!

north coast is the undisputed king of posting insanely good yet unknown stuff. He's probably forgotten more music than most of us have listened to.

I like to go to music to lose myself a bit. Start blabbering about politics and I will lose my ability to lose myself. Shut the phuck up and just sing.
