In the early 80's my picture was used in a full page add in Louisiana Sportsman for their subscription drive.

A few years ago I appeared on a CNN documentary about High Stakes gambling in Las Vegas. 2 hrs of filming for less than 30 seconds on TV. My grandkids thought it was pretty cool!

I was the defendant on an episode of Judge Joe Brown in the 90's

I made the cover of Spearfishing Magazine for the 264# yellowfin tuna I speared freediving while on a trip in the sea of Cortez.

made it to the championship round of the annual Fight Night boxing tournament put on by the university I attended in the early 80's despite never having boxed in my life.
Won my first 3 fights but lost the championship fight and got my nose broke. It was bleeding so bad ( my first ever nose bleed) and I was getting my ass beat so bad, the referee pulled me over and whispered in my ear " can you hang in there for a little bit more? Only 30 seconds to go ". Lol
I got a $6 trophy and my parents got a $600 hospital bill

Was able to attend a golf challenge in SF Olympic Club where the two players were Nicklaus and Johnny Miller.
"Shell's Wonderful world of Golf" was what it was called.
At the turn, they interviewed Nicklaus and I was behind Nicklaus acting stupid at the camera while he was being interviewed.

Boating/fishing related:
I was the two page centerfold in the April 1984 edition of Florida Sportsman magazine.
An article on frog gigging, and I was holding a gig while poised heroically in the bow of a canoe at sunset.
Lost my copy years ago if anyone has one...

Made local TV several times as a kid for Jerry Lewis MD telethon 78-80, beat the street and many doors in Pensacola in Sept heat collecting for this great charity. My brother and I collected so much that they wanted to show he and I on TV pouring in the money, over $1600 in the first year no parental assistance. Made the front page while running a Mixology (bar tending) school during a Bar Wars contest. I was doing a 3 man truck pull with my boss and a female student. Met Richard Prior in Baton Rouge back in the 80s while he was filming The Toy, Met Jam Master Jay 3 days prior to his Murder....Saved a life once at the river, diving accident broken neck, Body drifted into me got him to the beach and stabilized (kept all the helpful drunks away) until life flight could arrive. Did 3 Break dancing and Popping videos for Wear channel 3 on a private set. Danced on a weekly TV show around 16 ect ect. But I think my most long lasting minute of fame was a Bell Moto III full face helmet that was displayed at Whites Motorcycle shop for years stating Please wear your helmet this person survived! It was completely egg shelled and only being held together by the fabric. 125cc Honda Elsinore landed on my head from 20 plus foot vertical fall. I still have complete amnesia of this event.

Won CCA Texas STAR tournament for the Cobia offshore division 3 years ago , I refused to be on any of the TV commercials. So I guess you could say my life has been pretty low key.

I cry to this day about the new boat I didn't win.

I was one of the last people to fly with Payne Stewart and live. We flew him out to the ship for some kind of USO show.

Handler: Those clubs are worth a million dollars.
Me: That's nice (throws clubs in a pile with the rest of the cargo).

That is awesome. I drove a par 4 this summer. I had 15 feet for eagle and I three jacked it. My buddy was 20 yards short and chipped in.

I got to play Plainfield CC this fall. I shot 78 with an even par 36 on the front. Jordan Spieth shot 5 over on that 9 in 2015 and cried that the course was too hard.

Been on the front page of the local paper in Durango and Fort Collins, CO

Was on the news talking about the snow in Richmond, VA (1990ish)

Watched two kids flip their car into a creek here in Colorado. Had to wrench a door open to get them out, gave 'em a ride. Bonus, it was on Father's day and my kids called me a hero!

late 80's, kept a 3 yr old kid from sledding into the Kanawa canal in Richmond. Parents sent him down a huge hill alone and if I hadn't of been there to clothesline him, he probably would have drowned. His mom told me about 50 times, "thanks for saving my baby!". Still remember that kid's face.

Not fame but.....
Once was sitting baseline at the US Open (tennis) and was watching John McEnroe serve when a photographer a few boxes over took a picture, which also triggered his auto rewind to activate. After McEnroe faults, he turns around and sees me with a camera in my hand and assumes it was me that caused the distraction. He then spends the next few minutes cursing and venting at me! I don't believe I took any pictures after that episode.

Didn't really get any fame from it, but I have had pictures of my plants and finished buds in a few books.

I have plants and finished buds pictured in The Cannabis Encyclopedia by Jorge Cervantes.

I have plant pictures and finished bud pictures in the first two editions of The Cannabible.

My 20 seconds....

During the 2016 flooding in BR...took a selfie with a boat full of evacuees...posted it on my IG.
Daughter calls me up a couple days later and says, "Your picture from IG is on some lady from Shreveport's FB page....and it's going viral." Not having FB, I have to ask somebody else to show it to me. So...it was shared some umpteen thousand times. A few days later, daughter sends me a text and a picture saying, "Somebody made a meme out of your picture" and sent me the meme. At the time, I was clueless as to what a meme even was! So, I look at the picture and the only thing I could tell her was, "They misspelled 'discrimination." LOL
Next thing I know, I'm getting direct messages on IG from various national news outlets wanting to do phone interviews. Photo makes it to CNN/HLN coverage and they are name dropping me. Later in the year, History Channel reaches out to me and wants to do a phone interview. They then fly me to NYC and film for roughly 2 hours discussing big events of 2016....Trump, Alton Sterling, the flood, global warming, yada yada yada....Program aired on the History Channel where I got about 20 seconds of coverage on the flooding segment.....I don't think they cared much for my political views on the other topics and all of that ended up on the editing room floor!...LOL

The original photo...there were two additional people at the stern that didn't get in the photo.

If you're going to make a meme....at least spell check it!

Morning Express!

Note the cut off "H" on the bottom right...from THC.
