38c in Sydney atm. Boys are in their paddling pool, mum is in the aircon and I am wondering if its too early for beer. Close to the ocean here so nice seabreeze kicking in and making it pleasant. Western (inland) Sydney hitting 46+ today, stay near the water!

Wow, all the guys in a boating forum would rather have watched "Croc Dundee" than the Americas Cup in Oz. How sad for us, even though we won the first US challenge ever in '87.

Can't say I would be too keen on eating a cane toad, unfortunatly an introduced pest that spread quickly, we just had a great day, "Australia day" kind of like your 4th of July and Thanksgiving rolled into one, had the family around for food, swimming at the beach and a great time with friends, Sydney temps were very high, 49 degrees in one western suburb, but on the beach with the breeze was great at around 25-28.

North of the equator, we're not accustomed to snakes taking pieces off our asses. That's a different kind of surprise "from down under."
My wife is from Indonesia. When she was a teenager she was sitting on the head taking care of business. She felt something tickling her bottom. She jumped up, ran a few feet away and looked back. There was a King Cobra coming out of the toilet. She screamed and her dad came in and dispatched the serpent. What she thought did the tickling was the snake flicking its tongue on her bottom. If something like that ever happened to me I would probably keel over dead of a heart attack.

Happened to a woman here the other day. Only a Carpet Python so non venomous but it would give a good fright.
