Default 2019 BMW R1250GS Adventure

Well, it's official. Just ordered a new 2019 BMW R1250GS Adventure. Opted for the "Exclusive" model, color is Kalamata Metallic Matte. Been searching for some nice pre-owned GSA's, found a few but we decided to buy new. The new Boxer with Shift Cam (Variable Valve Timing) and the new TFT display is just awesome. I've been riding my entire life, even raced for years. But now, entering this phase of my life, I'm ready to do some highway crunching, hammock camping, and just putting my knees to the breeze.

I will post some actual pictures once she gets here. Should be next week or so.

The GSA with the larger fuel tank is a sweet ride, congratulations!

BMW makes some serious pavement eater bikes. I was into Harleys...fixed up and rode many older ones for years, and I always had a hankering for picking up an early or mid 70's RS 80/90.

Cool bike, what else did you consider? Did you also look at the Honda CRF1000L2 Africa Twin?

Looked at them all. Rode the Africa Twin, not my cup of tea. Ducati Multistrada, KTM 1290, Nutter Motor, not what I was looking for. The new 1250 Boxer is insane. Not as much HP as the KTM or the Duc, but more livable in 99.9% of real world riding. Needed an upright highway cruncher with lots of range. Always wanted a GS Adventure... finally got one.

Long time rider here. I've had everything from KLRs - Triumph Tigers - Goldwings, but always had a BMW itch that's not been scratched. Good on ya Mack!

Awesome Bike! I had a 2012 BMW GS 1200 Rallye. Best bike I ever owned. We used to ride the old dirt logging roads in the NC mountains. Cruise at 90 up I26 to get there. Best mod I did to it was add a steering stabilizer. If needed, You could ride it in the sand and just peg the throttle to lift the front tire. I think the new ones now come with the steering stabilizer. Congrats!

Here is the stabilizer I used.... I think this is better than the stock ones. Last picture is friend's wife giving him the finger for spilling her on the dirt!

Well, just got a call from Joey at Tampa EuroCycles... my gal will be on the floor tomorrow. So, I will have her by tomorrow afternoon. Just ordered some Cardo Packtalk Bold for comms. Once I get her in my possession, I will post some pictures of her. Can't wait to start the mods!!! These GSAs are like two wheeled Jeeps... you can't just leave them stock!

I think Neal Pert from RUSH rode the BMW. He liked to ride every day and had two bikes with him on the tour. When they set up the stage and stuff, he and security guy would ride 100's of miles. Neal said it was what he did to relax. Security guy had trouble keeping up with him and was in pain most of the time.

Neil Peart did a HUGE amount of riding...quite globally too! And yes mostly on BMWs.
He wrote several books on riding, last year I finished his book called "Ghost Rider"...that he wrote after doing a ride from Canada to Mexico to the North West..and back to Canada. He did that long ride after recently losing both his daughter, and his wife...in the same year. Separate times..but in the same year.

Amazon Amazon

Great book, I highly recommend it.
