Default Need a jeweler in SW or S. Florida

My wife has some jewelry that she wants to get appraised, but I don't really know anyone around here - that I trust. Not saying anyone is dishonest, it's just that I'm not in this business and I can't tell a diamond from a CZ. I'm told we need a gemologist as she's got some emeralds as well as diamonds that she wants appraised.

Can anyone provide a recommendation of someone they know and trust?

Patrick who owns Atlantis jewelers in east boca. Very trustworthy. Old family friend and we are still close. Best of luck with whichever route you go down.

Congress jewelers on Sanibel is a family owned and have always been very good to us when we visit from up north. Seem up front and honest and it’s nice to deal with a small operation that has good reputation vs. a chain jeweler.

Appraised to sell, or appraised to insure? They are kind of different and may dictate who you go to.
