Default Custom Wood Pens

This has been my winter projects! I have been making custom wood and titanium rings. I was also commissioned to make a few pens. I enjoyed it so much I couldn't stop. Here are a few of my latest. Does anyone else do wood turning on here?

Where do you get the "hardware" and such for the pens. I am referencing the clips, tops, bottoms, and the actual fillers?

There are 2 main places I buy them from. Woodcraft and Penn State Industries. There are many different styles and color variations you can choose from on hardware. These are known as european style pens. I also do slimline pens but dont have any pictures of them yet.

Great workmanship. How about a pool cue project next. Believe it or not there is a huge market for them.

Great work, great to see them turned to the proper diameter. So many turners think a pen body should be 3/4" in diameter.

Nice to see a few fellow woodturners here on THT. I started out making pens and now mostly make bowls, plates, containers, etc. I'll see if I can post a few pics of some of my work. My son is now turning pens but he likes working with acrylics. Me, not so much.

Nice work!

Nice work! I figured there had to be someone here besides me who made pens
Here's a few of mine. I mostly do acrylics, but I snagged a grab-bag of random wood blanks a little while ago, so I'll see how that goes.
I gotta say, one of my faves is the last one, the camo 30cal with the pinup decal, 'cause I shot the photo as well as the turned pen

I started out making rings, still do, but found that I really enjoy pen making.

Thanks! I bought the kit to cast any of my own, but I haven't gotten around to trying it yet. There's so many amazing acrylic blanks now that I can't help thinking anything I cast myself would wind up being second rate.
Burls usually do turn out really nice. You got a favorite kind of burl? If I'm doing a burl, I'll usually grab for a red Mallee if I can find one.

I like chechen burl and logwood. If you are ever in Atlanta you need to check out Carlton Rare Woods. Unbelievable amount of burls and exotic woods.

When you cast you need a pressure pot. It really helps get the air out of the mixture. These are some ring blanks I cast using red coolibah.
