My question would be, is it legal to have your dog off leash at that park? If it is, mind your damn business or go somewhere else. If it isn't, the guy who threw the punch is an asshole.

If you read the story you'd see it is required to have your dog on the leash at all times.

I'm ready, let the pit-haters blame the dog for the death.

Philadelphia Police on Thursday charged a 24-year-old man with involuntary manslaughter
Matthew Thomas Oropeza, of the 1600 block of South Sixth Street, also faces charges of simple assault, reckless endangerment and terroristic threats in Saturday’s attack on Drew Justice at Gold Star Park.

(dogs are required to be kept on a leash at all times. )

I saw this in the a.m. can't believe it took this long for someone to post it. Pit owners seem to have the same phenotype as the pits!

Must have been a real hard sucker punch to do that.

Wasn't really the punch, but the guy hit his head on the pavement! Can just a punch kill someone...yes, very, very rare though!

EVERY fight I've ever been involved in I've NEVER thrown the first punch, and I've won most all of them.
Good fighters always wait, gives us a very big advantage as long as your ready and aware! That's the key, awareness! Once an idiot throws a punch at me he's mine!
Why.....because # 1 he's NOT connecting, and #2 he just left himself wide open.

Very sad story...hope they catch the POS.

Regardless, if the witnesses are telling the truth the guy who through the punch in an asshole. I don't care what anyone tells you to do, you can't just punch them. You can ignore them, yell back, whatever, but if someone tells you something or yells something at you, you cannot punch them.

The guy that died used to work in my office. I didnt know him other than by looks passing in the hallway. I have said prayers for him and his family. I cant call the guy that punched him a murderer. He may have been an asshole but I doubt he had any thought this would be the result of a punch/street fight. It was a freak accident.

Default If you....

Choose to have a pit or half pit, as they are so previlent at all the dog shelters around , then you better be prepared to suffer the results of your dog eating, fighting, killing the neighborhood pooches, or children. Ive got neighbors with huskys and they are scary. They jump their fence. Approach small children and me with a vengence. I now carry my 9mm often as I wont hesitate to shoot them IF I have to. I dont want to shoot a dog but value my granddaughters and my well-being over some maniac dog or its owner. The owners say crap like "oh, theyre ok cause their tails are wagging". , and then call me an asshole. .......Well then would you tell them to drop my dog from their teeth????? Pits are the worse followed by their owners. Its only the threat of having to pay for vet bills or civil lawsuits that even begin to get them to acknowledg their responsibility.

I knew a guy who had the same thing happen to him. He got into fight, fell and hit his head. Fight was instantly broke up and he went home. He came to work the next day and they found him dead in his company vehicle a few hours later. This was a few years ago and I’m not sure whatever happened to the other guy, I’m pretty sure he was being charged with something,

No, He is a murderer. He is responsible for his actions. A freak accident would be the man tripping and knocking the other fellow to the ground.
