Estimates are for smoking to decrease by over 30% over the next 5 years(US), that is a rate more than twice the recent decline trends.

E-cigs, according to a recent article I read, have more nicotine than cigarettes. How long before that gets regulated? In addition, money from lawsuit settlements/taxes are used to fund anti smoking campaigns.

Considering how many good companies are out there to invest in, I see no need to invest in a company with that kind of risk.

But then I also stay away from fads, so what do I know?

I think you're right. If they cannot collect huge taxes on cigarettes, they'll put one on every can of coke and pepsi, claiming it's going to combat obesity.

Everybody in Europe smoke, or it seems so when I was there, especially Italy.

I read something a while back, that something like 60 percent of all the people that smoke
only smoke when they drink.

Some smoke after sex, especially if they're doing it too fast.
