Default Shop vac hater.

Before we spend another dime on going to another planet let’s invent a better shop vac.One that doesn’t case deafness after 10 minutes and doesn’t always get the cord wrapped under the wheels. Is it to much to ask if the hoses don’t keep pulling apart.I ask you!

I too hate my Ridgid shop vac. Absolutely screams at me. After a few minutes I want to kick it. Works fine, though.

In the house the girls grabbed my credit card and got a Shark. That thing is so quiet and powerful.

Shark needs to make a shop vac!!

Dont forget the filters that immediately clog and also throw the dust through the exhaust.

I pipe my exhaust thru a window when using it or use the dust deputy attachment or both

I've been putting off adding dust collection in my shop because the Craftsman shop vac I bought 16 years ago as a 'temporary' solution just won't quite. And even after years of use, the wheels still will not roll over the cord.

Get a 50' swimming pool vac hose and leave the shop vac outside
Than let me know how it works because I've been wanting to do this for some time.

Suggestion for an upgraded hose?

Also, suggestions for a filter that can deal with fireplace ash?

depends on brand, really. But for example, Ridgid offers an upgrade hose for about 40$. I've been wanting to get one for a while, just keep forgetting every time I go in the store.

they also make mufflers now that are supposed to reduce the noise. Mixed reviews on how well they work.
