It's time for me to pick up another. My guy (English Bulldog) has been gone for half a decade.

I think we will be going for a golden doodle or a bernedoodle (Bernese Mtn. Dog and poodle mix).

Found out after my last one that both I and the wife are allergic.

It dont matter what breed. You are getting a shelter dog. Just go meet some dogs. Along the way you will meet all kinds of dogs of every shape and size. some will be layed back, some will be high energy. Some will be lap dogs, and some will just want to play. Some may even be batshit crazy but cute as a button. If you look long enough I guarantee you will both know when you have found the right one, and breed wont matter.

FYI, just because its half poodle doesn't guarantee it will be hypo allergenic. My goldendoodle still sheds some.

Yea, we are pretty well in the loop on the possible/probable shedding, but it's at least better than a "normal" dog for us. We will just have to keep eyedrops and claritin around.

We are both ready for anther...we think.
