Nope. I'm in maintenance in my company and we're the only ones that have to work 26th-28th. Projects and PM's. With no production going on, it makes for 3 looooong, boooooring days with our twit of a boss hovering over us all day.

Since I work overnights I havta work Christmas Eve into Christmas morning then into Christmas night and New Years Eve into New Years day then New Years night. My shift starts at 11 pm thru 7 am, so in other words I work twice a day Starting Monday night to Saturday morning. The only full day off I get is Sunday.....Unless I havta fill in for someone.

For the first time ever, I am off Christmas week. Normally, I go in for a couple of hours and handle the crisis of the day and then "work from home" for the rest of the day.
This year I have 35 hours of "use or lose" leave that has to be burned off by 7 January. My plan was to take leave from Monday until 2 January. Suddenly, Christmas Eve is a holiday so I'll start my leave tomorrow instead.
Hopefully today is uneventful. I have a two hour meeting where we have been instructed not to speak, followed by an hour meeting to review an 8 page document block by block, followed by a 2 hour Change of Command. It would be nice if after the military ceremony we were all directed to go home.

I have one (work related) goal between now and the 2nd; build 5 more web pages for my website and freshen it up a bit. Couple hours here and there and it'll be done.

Probably go home a few hours early on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day off if nothing goes wrong/breaks. In the livestock business there are not really any days off. Just sometimes you are at home instead of the office or on the farms. Someone has to feed, breed and water everyday, we try to push it up so that the guys can be home as much as possible Christmas day but every farm will have someone on it for at least 2 to 4 hours and then an evening check that takes about an hour or so.

I'm with you Sir.
Nothing going on and nobody is here. No need in taking the days off. Come in late and leave early.
I'd rather take time off when it's busy as hell.
