Im good. Easy process, just a little extra paperwork. I travel extensively and just getting a jump on the insanity.

I did when they first came available here in NC. I needed to make a change on my license so I just took the required documents with me and got it done. Really nothing to it.

Yes. Additional verification is required, so that your state license is compliant with the new Federal standards. Wife brought her license, Pistol permit, and passport I think. Since she had her shit together ahead of time, it was no big deal.
I'll do mine in a couple of months on my birthday.

Have a passport and a passport card. Card's always in my wallet. That's about as real an ID as I'd ever need. But, I suppose there are many out there that see no value in having a passport.

Passport and a utility bill was all I needed when I renewed

Screwed me up, I couldn't renew my other three drivers licenses with different names

Think by reading the requirements I may have done it and didn't know.

Geez.

When I was young, I had to "update" my license to be a fake ID.

Now I gotta update it to be a real ID.

What a confusing world we live in.

I dont need a real ID in NC, governor just vetoed a requirement to have a valid ID to vote...so I can continue to use my not so real driver's license and my passport at the airport...saves me from giving more money to the state for a license I already paid them for that is supposed to be a valid ID.......next time they ask to see it I'll tell them ...uhhhh I'm a traveler...lol

Yep did it last month. A couple extra pieces of paper and an appointment at the DMV. I did the update cause we were getting our passports for the first time.

Veto should be overridden next week. We'll see.

Real ID = picture of real old man. That's the primary downside I suppose.

Look at your Driver's License for the star. If there then yes. If not then it won't be.

That's one reason I posted it. I didn't know about it until my wife asked me about it.

Of you are doing it strictly for air travel, TSA Global entry negates the need if you happen to already have it.
