Back in 2105 had a .380 pistol misfire and this was the result. after passing through my hand, the bullet went though my buddys leg and into a wall. Dug the bullet out a year later and gave it to him. Thank God it was a FMJ and not a hollow point.

My dad could win this thread. About 30 years ago a pipe fell on him at work. He crushed 4 vertebrae and broke his pelvis in 12 places. They weren’t sure if he’d walk again, but about 6 months later he was up and about. It still hurts him everyday, but had he been 5’ to his left he’d have been crushed by a valve in the pipe. The valve handle hit the floor so hard it gouged into the steel about 1/2”.

All in the summer of 2017
1- fell of ladder pressure washing my boat. Crushed tail bone , crushed phone in my back pocket
2- got pushed backwards by heavy machine, fell back on box of metal , 5/16” threaded rod went 2” through my thigh . Had to unthread it to get it out.
3- 400 lb hydraulic cylinder slid off rack and I got a concussion. Not right for 2 weeks.
4- finished off the summer getting hit by lightening. Lightening hit the building, came through compressor pipe to my work bench. Blew me 20’ away.
Burnt my leg, arm, nerve damage. Took out the electrical system, alarm system and strangely blew up a work truck battery that was not running.
i’m fine

A few I can think of had a half inch wood chisel all the way threw my palm that was bad. Another one that sticks out was accidentally getting shot in the face with a propane potato gun at point blank range black eyes busted lips eyelids turned inside out. With some friends around a fire barrel drinking beer and one of them threw a shotgun shell in the fire when no one was looking when it went off liquid plastic hit my forehead and eyelid and in between my eyes had to goto the er and let them get the plastic and skin off. That was 15 years ago and still have a scar in between my eyes. Another was riding wheelies on a dirt bike and went over the handle bars and slid to a stop on my face that was bad lips tore off took all the skin off my nose and chin and forehead broke my wrist and knees missing enough skin and meat to see bone. Those are just a few that stick out and required hospital visits.

June 24th 2011 a coworker slept in the building where we worked and I was the first to arrive that day. I had an early service call (mechanic) and when I was closing the shop door after loading my work truck, he snuck out of a corner storage closet and shot me point plank range with a 357 mag. Bullet entered my right shoulder just above the head of my humerus, went through my acromion lengthwise. Bounced off my spine leaving 3 fractures and lodged in my left scapula where it lies today.
Doctor in the ER said I'd never use my right arm again, I said find me another doctor, that doesn't work for me. 3 bone grafts and some titanium later, I have 90% or so range of motion and nearly full strength. Titanium plate hurts like hell when it gets cold since its just under the skin..
The guy who did it gets out of prison 2 weeks from tomorrow, I expect it will be a stressful time for awhile, certainly for my wife anyway. Anyway, as another poster said, life goes on!

16 years old and trying to get into the pants of this hot little blond down the street. They had a big barn at the back of the property that had a roof leak. Well of course, I was the man for the job. Get me some tools and managed to get onto the 20 foot high roof with no ladder. Go to banging around on this tin roof and a huge cotton mouth drops out a cypress tree onto the peak of the roof and is sliding down the tin right towards. This ain't gonna work!
Attempted to exit the roof via a jump to a big tree and didn't make it. Fell into a pole and knocked myself out on the way down which was in a 10 foot high chain link fence. Hung my right arm on the top of those forks of the chain link and it impaled me from just below the bicep and ripped until my elbow stopped the tearing. Came to looking down at the puddle of blood on the ground underneath me. Manage to get off it and took off towards the house yelling for help. Passed out at the door steps to awake in the hospital. Lots of units of blood and a bunch of stitches and still have the scar, a bad one.
The bad part is I never got any of that ass.
The good part was I didn't get snake bit either.

NoProblem,
Be a better person than he and take him on a 1 way fishing trip.
Glad to hear you survived it and got back into the real world.
Somethimg people don’t realize about these severe injuries or surgeries is the after math which can be anything from withdrawing from reality or becoming extremely depressed which can lead to other issues, etc.

I assume he will return to my area, but I guess I won't know for sure until he gets out. I could go the rest of my life without ever seeing him again and that would be just fine by me...

I fell asleep at the wheel and ran nearly head on into a parked car. That sucked.
Lots of broken boats over the years.. ribs, collar bone, foot, fingers..
Stuck my thumb in a table saw this year. Felt like a hammer blow. 18 stitches and lost 1/2 it's feeling, but it's still there.
