Default Bug Zapper experience?

Anyone have a good recommendation on a bug zapper. I'm in Fl on edge of the everglades. Have a screened lanai but the little critters still manage to get thru, Mostly mosquitos and tiny annoying flys/moths,gnats. Looking for something that will do a decent job and has a bug catch at the bottom. Don't necessarily want something that is so bright that it is the focal point of the neighborhood. Flowtron keeps coming up in my searches. Any first hand experience would be welcome.

This one is a beast and will probably kill birds. If mosquitoes are a problem, get the little attractant packages.

Thanks, That Flotron brand seems to be the one that keeps coming to the forefront.

Some of wisest advice I've ever been given...
Buy your neighbor a bug light, so it's drawing the bugs away from your property, that is, if you are close neighbors.

I haven't had any problems with mosquitoes getting through my screen but they do come in on the dog now and then. OTOH the "No Seeums" have no respect for screen at all. They also seem to ignore the bug zapper I had. These days I just fog the place when they start building up in there. I really pushed them back when I cut back the vegetation in the back yard and created a wider clear zone. You may want to even do some trimming of those salt water peppers that grow around the dock and put the cuttings in a lawn bag before you set them on the side of the road for the stick man..

Out it over the water to feed the fish. Make sure to remove the catch bowl if it has one.

At my folks lake house they have a big wrap around porch, with ceiling fans spaced every 8’ (approximately). They run year round on low, medium when the porch is in use. Also a regular photocell street light behind the house. Bugs go to the light, and don’t care to fly in the breeze from the fans.

Most zappers will do the job. We use this one and it does just as good a job of eliminating the flying bugs from the screened porch all year long, and for much less cost:

Wife bought a "black flag" model. Has a purple black light. Put it on the patio last night and It attracted every little Beetle in town I think. Killed a bunch of small flying insects too. Now that I know it works I'm moving it farther away from the house. Otherwise I'll be sweeping up bugs every morning. Spraying the sliding glass door frame with bug killer seemed to work pretty well at keeping them from coming in the house too. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I am a big fan of bug zappers. Stinger used to make a good one, but they got pretty cheesy after a while, and seem like they sold out to Black Flag and got even crappier. I just ordered one of those expensive ones from the link I posted above.

Years ago, some USDA scientists published a paper that said zappers only kill "good" bugs. Apparently, they hung some out in swamps near Indian River in Florida and counted what bugs got killed. Only 2% were mosquitoes. Well, I cleaned out my own bug zapper and looked at the bugs in a microscope - more than 90% were mosquitos. I even had that confirmed by some entomologists at UF. I sent my report to Stinger and they sent me a free zapper.

Mosquitos here at my property in Gainesville, FL are the worst I have ever seen in 30 years of living here. However, everywhere else I have been in Florida over the last 6 months is not nearly as bad, and some places where one would expect lots of mosquitos have very few.

Do these "Zappers" make a difference in the amount of bugs? I know it kills some off but is it enough to make you notice?

Maybe they just chase them all off to Fish Haid's house.

A window screen on the back of a shop fan catches a bunch too. Then just spray them with rubbing alcohol
