Default USPS Once Again Proving They are Morons

Did a mail hold over the holiday weekend. Just a regular hold, with no special instructions. They resumed mail delivery today, but have now tagged 3 packages hold for customer pickup only. To make it better, they are tagged as “direct customer pickup” meaning that both my wife and myself have to go. None are shipments requiring signatures, much less direct signatures. They refuse to discuss it on the phone, beyond saying that I requested it, and we need to come to the post office. Visiting the post office involves waiting in line for 30 minutes behind a bunch of folks that smell like they forgot to bathe for a month and then rolled in an ashtray to cover their BO, then doused themselves with cheap liquor for an extra special touch. I asked them to review my hold mail request, and they can’t be bothered. Imbeciles.

They are incompetent idiots that should not be in the package delivery business if they can’t do so effectively

My local post office has amazing marble wall tile with polished stainless steel molding everywhere. It also has 1 1/2” thick bulletproof glass. Pick up one package here and you wouldn’t be bitching about your location.

I don’t want to visit any location for any reason that I didn’t initiate. I have never had to visit UPS of FedEx due to them not following a request properly.

Ready Friday and Saturday. Hold ended today. According to their email, delivery starts back on the last day of the hold. Mail resumed today, and I received a package scheduled for today, but not the three from Friday/Saturday.

With over 5000.00 in shipping cost a month I'm done with the USPS. All UPS from now on, I don't care if it cost more. But of course our tax dollars cover USPS losses.

we have plenty of those around. Mail delivery all runs out of a handful of bigger branches, which seem to be located in areas with less desirable customer bases.

all of ours runs out of the local office unless it’s Sunday Amazon delivery. Then it comes out of the next town.

Absolutely hate the USPS. They should be forced to face the same fate the Pony Express did.

USPS sucks, I have a hard to find part missing for two days now. It'll probably show up at the Pizza Hut down the road next week.

I always figured that they were Mormons but they could be Presbyterians or maybe Baptists. I'm sorry you had the problems, as I have, but keyholing them into a certain religion is a little over the top. Just sayin'.

I've had this happen over a dozen times starting about two months ago. I've noticed a pattern - if it's big and heavy I doubt they even load it on a truck, it's marked that way usually within an hour or two of arriving at their facility. It's then considered oversized and available for pickup only. If it takes a ride on the truck and they don't have time to deliver it they go ahead and mark it that way I'm guessing to avoid some penalty for being late and most times will deliver it the next day. They are the worst.

My daily mail women is awesome, always running back and forth (she's in good shape and always smiling; but the radoms they use for packages are horrible. I've had them cut a u-turn across my lawn, backup thru my lawn right to my front door, and even just literally flip a heavy box out the back of the truck in the middle of my driveway and then just drive off...in the rain.
