Default Do you own a Ford CAR?

I'm curious... with Ford gearing to eliminate all passenger cars and only focus on trucks and SUVs... I wonder... how many people here own a Ford car -- and if you do, would have bought another one if they were still going to be made?

Correct... Mustang, and likely Focus (although there's some talk as to the Focus for certain...) Mustang is certain.

But there are many other Ford Cars out there...

I donít own one. But drive one everyday. Iím not a fan because Iím not a fan of cars. Always had full size trucks and my wife drives German suvs.

But it I will say that for what it is, it isnít terrible, fairly reliable, very affordable. But no Iíd never buy one in the first place.

2010 Mustang convertible (mommas).. Only 80k, bought it with 40k in 2012. Has cracks in the piping of the top since I got it, air vent flaps make a funny noise at start up since I got it. Only real beef was the paint issue on the aluminum hood, she rear ended someone and got a new hood, problem solved...
I would buy another, plan was a new GT this fall, but we've decided to buy a ranch out here, so it is on the back burner for now.

FWIW; That announcement amazes me!

Wouldn't bother me. If I recall, they're still legally obligated to make parts for something like 20 years.

I mean, had they kept making them, would have been a buyer?

Bought a new Taurus a few days ago for a salesrep. He wanted a Chevy Impala but the deal on the Taurus was too good (and his previous car was a Taurus which he liked)

A decision like that speaks volumes to me regarding gas prices!

I guess Ford knows something that I don't, not a shocker there.

I gather they are VERY confident gas prices are going to stay low, or go way lower. Because they'll now be only making trucks that will not see 20 mpg as a whole....avg of All models.

I bought both my daughters the Focus and they ran those cars for years into the ground an never had a problem. My wife and I bought a Taurus wagon when they first came out. That was another great car.

I have a 2013 Taurus. Very comfortable, nice feature set for the money, smooth ride, fairly powerful engine, affordable. Only major problem was a catalytic converter failure. 95,000 miles. I would buy again.

They will not stop making ALL cars. They are cutting back on most models, focusing on trucks, SUVs, and...Crossovers (so..you can say they'll start making more chunky station wagons...which is what has evolved into what is called a crossover now)

What they are focusing on first...is to stop making "sedans". Which, quite bluntly, are not selling very well, sales have dwindled.

And it's not all happening right away.

"Interceptor" has become a generic term for any model specialized for police.

Have you noticed even the new cars for PDs are the Ford SUVs? It's called the "Interceptor Utility"

Yeah I know, it's the production and after market performance package that's put in, that's why I put the Taurus in also which is the base model for most of the police cruisers around here.

So, I already sold my For stock years ago that I got for I think less than $2 back in 2009. I sold before the next slump in 2011 I think.
Now that ford is basically "giving up", not so sure I'll buy it again when its done bottoming out.

Only FORD I have owned is stock. I honestly don't really like the look or feel of the vehicles.

I have a 2017 mustang with the 4cly. Fun little car to drive. I think they should keep cars, peoples tastes change over time and the cross overs will phase out eventually.
