Default New Dog

Ozzy will be our third rescue in 9 years. He's was turned in by a farm breeder. He's a sweet 5 year old male, he's in great health but he'll have to learn a few manners. He was just fixed, hence the collar / cone

Congratulations on your new family member! He's a good looking boy. We've had 3 golden rescues and they were some of the best dogs.

I cannot go. I would end up wanting to bring all of them home and because that isn't possible it would tear me up to walk away from the ones looking at me as I left.
My wife, I mean this woman I know went and picked up our current rescue, Indy. He has been a family member for 3 years and 3 months.
He is waiting to ride in the Tacoma ........... again. He LOVES IT.

Australian Shepherd.
Just finished drying him when he decided he wanted out. His out wasn't the out I was thinking. Instead of going pee, he ran straight to the garden for a dirt bath..

That is a lucky catch. We beat the bushes for months looking for a golden or a lab at any rescue. I was registered at a half dozen places. The only thing they seemed to have was senior dogs with serious health problems and we had just lost one, we were not ready for that heartache again.
We ended up getting a lab puppy from someone who had a "surprise" litter. He is a tad over a year now and still "lab puppy" nuts.

DVGRR gets a lot of Goldens, considering they are surrounded by the Lancaster farm breeders its no surprise. They also get a lot from the midwest were rampent farm breeding is a big problem also. Our last guy was from San Juan, he was a hurricane survivor. Unfortunately we only had him 8 months, we had to put him down in June due to a tumor on his spine.

I would rather have found one at the pound where we got our last 4 dogs but they only seemed to have pit bull mixes and dogs women carry in their purse. The previous one I got from the pound was a yellow lab and the best dog we ever had. Perfect house manners from day one. Cancer got him.

Home for a day and he's fitting right in. We hit the jackpot with this guy, it must have been very hard for his old owners to give him up. He knows, sit, stay, come, paw (handshake) rollover. He loves stuff toys and will put them away in his toy box when he is done. We had dinner and he just laid by my chair. He's better behaved than a lot of kids I know lol
