...when you low-ball them. Well shit, this is a negotiation. Grow a pair and name a price. I'm either going to buy it or not. No need to get one panties all up in a bunch.

Stop being a cheap prick and pay asking! You know how much a new one cost.

Just part of the process. I am not a big negotiator. Offer a fair price with a little room. Never low ball if I am really interested.

It's the seller's responsibility to educate themselves on the value of the item they're selling, it's my responsibility to check and see if they've done their due diligence by making a lowball offer.

I agree with you that if someone askes for an offer they should be patient and not angry with whatever you offer. You have to start the negotiations somewhere. I have had some interesting experiences selling and buying boats, you aren't going to find everyone that you deal with to be emotionally healthy, patient, and as kind as Santa Claus.

Either side can call it quits anytime. The buyer can walk if the seller doesn't want to counter, the seller if he thinks the opening offer is to far apart.

It's business, no need for either side to cop an attitude. Either both sides can agree on a price, or not agree and no sale takes place.

Just tell them you can’t buy it and sell it at the same time. That usually gets them worked up to name a price.

I agree I hate best offer no price sales.

I sell on Craigslist. I list the price, never say OBO. I have an item right now for $100, got an email offering 60. I responded as usual, that item is priced fairly at $100.

My Robalo was 100% paid for with CL sales and metal recycling of my FIL's crap.

Default Happens to me all the time

This is just like going to dinner with my wife.
She asks me where would I like to go and when I pick a restaurant she gets upset cuz she doesn't like that particular one.🤣

What drives me crazy is when someone low balls you and you accept the offer, only to never hear from the again. When I sell on CL I list it as a fair price every time. I also put in my add that I will absolutely not respond to texts asking if I will take less. You want to negotiate, show up and we will talk.

Not to derail, but the solution to chawh25's issue (and Riptied's, and mine, and .....) is:

When you want to go to dinner, say to wife or SO "Guess where we are going to dinner?"

and when a place is named say "You're Right!"

This way, you get to go to a restaurant without complaints, AND your SO gets to be RIGHT!! They love that!!

Why do you all think women own so many pairs of shoes and/or outfits?

They can never make up their minds what to wear, hence why it takes them so long to get ready to go anywhere.

I seriously think they don’t want to pick a restraunant because if the service or food sucks they want somebody to blame and bitch at.

Back to our regularly tuned program........
