Default BIG problems for I Phone 8

More overpriced crap from apple LoL !

How to tell if Apple recalled your iPhone 8

Apple says logic boards in some phones have a defect, causing unexpected restarts, frozen screens and at times the phone might not turn on.

The phones were sold between Sept. 2017 and March 2018, and were sold in the U.S., New Zealand, Australia, China, India and Japan.

So far my iPhone 8 has yet to burst into flames or be banned on aircraft.

Never understood peoples animosity towards apple. If you don't like it don't buy it. If you like it, buy it. I have had many iphones and just switched to Samsung. Both phones are good phones in my opinion and if either one was "overpriced crap" the companies would be out of business because no one would buy their phones. The market place is funny that way.

My 8+ didn't qualify and have had no issues at all. Bought when it first came out.

At least they have identified/owned up to the problem and started a recall.

Who still owns a Galaxy note 7?

I'll buy products from a company who has a few failures than a company who updates old phones to make them slower in order to push the latest model on you.

How do you explain Mercedes, Land Rover, BMW staying in business?

they landed on the moon with less technology than each on of those phones have. Every few months they come out with new software and give you a upgraded phone for free. I don’t get the hate either. We FaceTime our daughter in Australia everyday.....we don’t have to pay a penny, sending pics by text at the same time.

They are both overpriced, but neither is crap.
Some of the animosity is based on their cult-like following, where some people feel their products are superior and therefore by owning one, they themselves are superior. The brand loyalty is crazy. In my mind, if they were able to crate that sort of brand loyalty, more power to them! They are great at marketing, great at looks, and great at consistent product control. I don't like the phones for a number of reasons, but I harbor no hate towards them.

Apple products have a large advantage over anything Android based. Both Apple and Android are popular, but Android is fragmented, where Apple is proprietary. Because they can get away with it, in general things tend to work better - they only need one version of software to work on one small set of devices.

Another reason for animosity is because of their effect on the market. Like it or not, as the one of the industry leaders, they get to set the direction and other brands will follow, not necessarily ways in that benefit the consumer. Because of them, people like me are now stuck with phones with no headphone jack, no replaceable battery, and maybe someday they'll take away the cheap storage option of an SD card. So when the isheep say "Oh good, a monolithic block with no more replaceable battery! Cool!" the other companies soon followed. The same with headphone jacks, and I feel SD cards will go the same way too.

There have been other changes that were on other phones first, like waterproofing and wireless charging, that Apple finally adopted, which is a win for all consumers.

I like my SD card. I paid $14 for it. I stuck it in my PC, copied a bunch of songs to it, and then stuck it in my phone. When I got a new PC, I put the card back in my new desktop and copied all of the songs back. I used cut-and-past in windows file explorer, not a horribly bloated program like itunes to do it. When I got a new phone, I took the SD card out of the old phone and put it in the new one.

I like my current phone and have no problems with it, but I can tell the battery life has been getting shorter over the past year or two. Too bad I cannot just buy a $30 battery and swap it out anymore. Thanks Apple!

So when my 78 year old mother needed a new phone what did I suggest? An iphone. It made the most sense.

All of my "overpriced crap" from Apple is running flawlessly. My iPhone 5 is all over 5 years old and has NEVER missed a beat and my Mac Book Pro is almost 6 years old and run like the day it came out of the box. And guess what...I don't have to defrag it just keep it running AND it has never updated itself and screwed itself up like some other software does.
