connecting a smart tv to a tablet or iPhone
Just hung a 49'' Hisense (49h6E) 4k flat screen on the back patio. Walmart hada deal on them for $219 so I bit. Glad I did, the TV is awesome and being my first experience with a smart TV, pretty user friendly.
I do have a question. Is there a way to mirror the TV to a tablet or iPhone. Using the remote to navigate and search YouTube or Google is a pain in the azz.

The easy workaround for youtube is to browse on your phone, and barely start any videos you want to watch, then watch from history on the TV.
Otherwise a chromecast will do what you want. TV may have chromecast built in.

I use an Apple TV to mirror my iPad or phone to the TV, not TV to iPad/phone.
Very easy. Another way would be to use the HDMI adaptor and connect the iPad directly to the TV.

For Youtube, follow the instructions on this page under "Link with TV Code." It's really easy.

Once linked, you will browse Youtube on your phone/tablet/desktop. Once you find a video you want to watch, you play it on the device, and click a little icon at the bottom that says something about playing on the TV. The video then plays on your TV, and you can use your device to do whatever you want-- including queuing up the next video.
