Reminds me of Lone Wolf McQuaid when the midget dude points the giant revolver at Chuck Norris:

"Mine is bigger!!"

"Mine's loaded".

If you're going to be a stupid thug, ya better be tougher. What a dumb way to die.

And they had Andy Griffin's great nephew as the local law officer on the news down there. "Mess with someone that you don't know like that, and you will end up graveyard dead".

Yeah that's going to earn you some holes 100% of the time in my book. I'm actually surprised the Uber guy only pulled the trigger once.

Yeah. Hothead started a gunfight with a phone. That usually doesn't work out well for the phone guy.

Sucks that his temper made sure that he won't be around to father his kid.

Boek, a 34-year-old father and barber, died at the scene in Winter Haven

This is classic cut and dry.

I see no problem with this shooting. This guy came at him fast threatening to shoot him and he reacted in a manner that was commensurate to the threat at hand.

I am blown away by this guys family saying that the Uber driver could have done something different. That is ridiculous! Sorry that you lost your son, but he is the only one to blame for his actions!

Lastly, the Uber Driver had a customer in his car that I would think he is somewhat obligated to keep safe. How does that play into the stand your ground rules? I would think that he could also argue that he was defending the life of his customer/others. Just my $.02 though.

Guess I'm the only one that doesn't agree. If no weapon was displayed, then it was a bs call. It didn't say he was reaching for one. Hell, the article didn't even say he had a weapon.

Far cry from the parking spot dispute shoot. This one is a good example of appropriate use.

Civilian on stand your ground and a cop responding are different things. If you tell me you have a gun, I am assuming you do. That is all I need to know to act appropriately. If it were a cop responding to a call that is a different matter, but it isn't.

The dead guy had a history of assault collars, looks like his temper got him a ticket to the cemetery.

Maybe you should read the story before commenting.

"'That was a terrible mistake on Jason's part because the Uber driver not only happens to be licensed to carry a concealed firearm but he just finished the police academy so he understands the law.

'When Jason jumps out of his truck after forcing him off of the road is rapidly approaching him and saying, "You know I've got a pistol." He's holding a cell phone in his right hand coming up from his waist."

Do you wait for the psycho to draw a weapon? For him to throw a punch? For your head to smack the concrete? I haven't been drinking yet so I'm not being a smartass, I'd like to know where you, personally, draw the line.
