Default Freeman Story

Hey guys and gals! Been a while since I have posted, this summer has been insanely crazy busy which has taken away from some of my THT time. Things are great and the new facility is coming up to speed. I know Kendall posted it in another thread but I figured I would share it as well. Wasn't to long ago that Billy was building hull number 1 33 then the 40, birth of a Monster! This site has watched the growth of a company and provided lots of feedback into our product.

Thanks for all you have done and we are looking forward to an exciting future. As always we will keep the tht family in the loop!

Check out our latest video. Hopefully we will start a series and be able to do one or two a year.

Very cool and it just proves that in this great country that if you work hard, build a good product, and take the risk you can be successful.

I'm surprised there was no mention of what an important part the members here had in Billy's story?

Haha! It was actually brought up during the interviews but didn't make the final cut.

Great video. Following the original thread I never imagined it would have grown so big so fast. A dream and hard work paid off!

I'm still trying to hitch a ride on one...and scrape up enough nickels to buy one. Sigh...

Excellent story! Love the Freeman boats. Coming to visit the factory in a few weeks and plan on leaving a deposit for my dream boat.

Best,
Jim

Got stopped by FWC in Crystal River last week. The FWC boys mentioned that the 37 cat they pulled up on is a metal Freeman. I assumed they were saying that just to describe its similarities. But then a Crystal River local and someone local to me mentioned that it actually is. Could you guys speak to that ?

Sounds like a Cape Fear. There was one at the Mobile Boat Show this weekend.

Welp, I started down the THT rabbit hole and found this. My oh my how times change.

Honestly you all have given me drive to keep going on those days last summer when I was worn out and almost ready to quit. Well it has paid off. I have sold 3 boats to date and we are about to deliver hull #2 next month. Here's the problem, in 1 year we have only built 2 boats, which has really hindered my sales along with the cost to build.

This summer we are going to build a mold off of hull #3. This will allow us to build boats turnkey in half the time or less. It will also allow me to be much more flexible in pricing for those that I have given quotes. We will be using high quality epoxy resins for the layup and vinylester duratec for the skin layer. We will also have solid laminate bottoms, with vacuum bagged core cell above the chines. The boats will still retain much of the customization abilities. They will also be painted throughout with Awlgrip.

My goal is to build 10-12 boats a year. You guys at World Cat still wont have anything to worry about.

We anticipate the mold set being ready for use by August 08.

Thank you all.

Billy
Edit - turns out its most likely a Fincat

That last line is interesting....might be holding something back? Think that might bug me a little if I was having one built right now or had just taken delivery of one. Not that I’ll ever have to worry about that ha.

The Fincat is usually in Crystal River in the preserve state park . I know FWC has a lift for the Guardian in the Barge Canal right next to the Inglis Coast Guard Station, but its not always there.
