I gotta go back and watch that scene again . . . I thought the cop said, "give me your slide; we both carry a 17." And I thought . . . wtf is the slide worth; just swap barrels.

Your correct - I took it to mean switching barrels . I guess the point of the scene was the cops are covering up events and the manner it was presented was that covering stuff up is not uncommon and they all know it's done . The lines they give that Red head is something - she owns her brother , that dude doesn't stand a chance with her . Kelly Reilly , 40 , English actress . Gretchen Mol is in it also .

Costner is the absolute king of “corn” but most of the time I like his movies. I want to love this series but I am left thinking that Costner probably owns a large spread in MT along with a lot of other filthy rich fuckers and likes dressing up and playing cowboy, hence the series. Sons of Anarchy with horses and pickups , as in ridiculous but it beats about 90% of the current shit being played on tv so I am watching it.....

I saw Costner talking about this series and he has a real lover affair with the cowboy idea . Open Range I though was a good movie . Some people want to be Jessie James , some Rambo , some the Old man and the Sea .

Some years ago I was in a high end electronic store browsing, I spoke with the owner about some McIntosh and Audio Research stuff and he mention doing some home theater stuff on Costner ranch in Colorado. I do believe Costner is in to that Cowboy life style. he is a Southern California boy, grew up in Lynwood CA.

Saw her on a talk show the other day. She is a big horse person and thought she was going to get to ride a lot in the show. She was disappointed when the script went the other way. She said she really wanted to work with the director. He directed all the episodes. Same guy that did Hell or High Water.
Did anybody mention the horse trough scene?

Watched this half paying attention, but I thought the leader had the cop take the barrel so he could prove he shot his wife's brother. I haven't watched any since then.

Enjoying the show. Having a place out here where they filmed 'Dances with wolves' and a bunch of other movies, I've been told numerous times Costner loves the cowboy stuff..
BTW, Wyoming is incredibly beautiful, but Yellowstone is filmed in Utah... Oh, and Beth, all I can say is I love her more with each episode.

Costner used to own an upscale tavern in Deadwood, SD called The Midnight Star. Anyone know if he still has this place? Lot's of memorabilia from his movies on display there.

I doubt it, I go to Deadwood with frequency, I've never seen it.

So, I take it it's not a true western? More modern day?

Helicopters, pickup trucks and assault rifles with some horses being ridden and cowboy hats being worn.

Think it was Stone by Whiskey Myers.

Whoever came up with the music for this series loves Whiskey Myers. Them and Uncle Lucius have been every song so far I think.
