I'll say a prayer for you. I ruptured three disks in my neck and back about four years ago. There were days when the pain was so bad I though that no amount of percosett would help. After a lot of physical therapy I was a new man. I feel your pain. Hang in there....

Sorry to hear that Bronco. I hurt my back in 1989 and have been dealing with it ever since in several fashions. There are several good books out there with the primary focus being building the back muscles with very low impact exercises. Leg lifts are good as well as sit-ups. I purchased a high quality back brace that I wear when doing things that involve certain kinds of lifting or bending in a manner that stresses the lower spine. Get the type with the metal strips in the rear and the double velcro in front. I have managed to stay pretty active but I had to change the way I performed certain tasks. Bending from the waist in a serious no - no now. I went the chiropractor route as the adjustments and electro shock theropy have worked quite well. The problem is that with back injuries, the body compensates and other problems develop. The hips can become inflammed and out of alignment with the spine and compound the problem. The knees react to the hips and the next thing you know, you have a host of other problems due to the back injury. I personally would see a chiropractor or an osteopath before I even considered surgery and remember, pain killers do nothing but kill the pain. They don't help the injury at all. Good Luck Bronco, I feel your pain.

Seriously, hope you're feeling better soon

Lumbar Lemonectomy about 1989, Ain't nothing to play with I was right about 22 YO. Pain is not something I like to play with and Percocet makes my belly sick and my head numb. I still feel it sometimes. My Sciatic was pinched and my ankle to my hip felt like someone was putting a heated steel rod down my right (starboard) leg.

My son popped his a couple years ago picking up a sheet of 3/4 ply. He had the surgery and a bone graft and was back playing hockey about 3 weeks later. Just Do It!!! As a matter of fact I took him to the hosp. at noon and the surgery was done by 2 and he called the next morning at 10. He said "ya gotta come get me. They need the room. Yep they gave him the boot. LOL

Bronco, when I tore up my heel a couple of months ago, one of my neighbors hooked up Linksys(wireless link to modem) for me so I could move my laptop around.
You can get it at Wally World for about $150 including the card for the lap top. If your going to be down for awhile and don't have this, you may want to try it. It will work well enough to help pass the time.
Nothing would make me feel better than knowing your writhing in pain because we made you laugh.
Keep us posted.

Just got back from physical therapy for my back. When you think you have it bad, that's when you hear about some worse so you realize you don't have it as bad as you thought. Take care rest well and feel better. Prayer are forthcoming.

Brian,

You're too YOUNG to be havin' them kinda' poblems, man!

I think it was some kinda' "plot" you put together so you could stay in the air conditioning and have LOTS of women waitin' on you!

Hope everything goes well and nothing major ahead! I know how bad it hurts when I just get a little "crook" in the neck.

I'll keep you in my prayers!

Regards,
