Default Reloading ?

I've got about 1000 rounds of 5.56 to reload. Kinda let them get ahead of me! Anyhow to lube them for resizing I used a pad with lube and rolled the shell on it. Too many to do that way. What's an easy way to lube up a lot of rounds? I see some people have just used a soap solution. After I resize and trim, I run the shells though a ultrasonic cleaner a second time. So I'm not worried about them getting sloppy with lube.

When I handload a large batch of handgun ammo, I use an aerosol lube like Hornady's One Shot.

I have 3k of .223 loaded. I use Heet and pure lanolin in a spray bottle. Works like a champ. The Heet evaporates and leaves a coating of lanolin. Don't buy too much lanolin, it goes a long way.

I'm kind of with GetReel; what cost savings can you achieve since .223 ammo is dirt cheap to buy.

Don't save much, maybe a nickel a round. I kinda enjoy doing it, except the trimming and deburring.

I use the Dillon case lube spray , works great. For your trimming and chamfering look at a Giraud triway trimmer or comparable piece. Time saver for sure.

Not trying to hijack your thread but I've always wondered. How hard is it to double a load if you are not paying attention?. Will a double load blow up a gun?

I also just use spray lube.

Double charging...never done it in tens of thousands of rounds but I use a progressive machine that would make it difficult. I also usually use powders with which a double charge would be spilling out the case mouth. And I have a camera system on my press so if I really want I can look in every case.

I did once load a bunch of 10mm without noticing that at some point the little stamped steel "nut" on the powder throw lever had stripped. 500 rounds with about 10 squibs mixed in. Thought I found them all; my wife discovered one at the range a year later. Ringed a G20 barrel pretty good.

Its easy to do with certain powders and you can destroy a gun and get serious injuries with a double charge or an over charge.

Hard to 'double load' a rifle cartridge but easy enough on a pistol cartridge. A double load will definitely create issues.....

A rifle case is mostly filled with powder so double charging is nearly impossible. You can overcharge a rifle case and the results can be bad for the gun and the shooter.

Bullet stopped in the barrel, and she fired the next round?

Like others above, I use hornady one shot in a plastic bag and mix them up good. I also use Dillon carbide sizing dies which seem to help a lot.
