Well, you don't give much info. How big is it? From the pic it could be the size of a kiwi or a watermelon.
Where did you find it? N E China, Alaska, S US?

If I were to guess, and you found it the SE US, I'd say it looks like an unripe Podophyllum. Mayapple, locally. If it is, I hope you didn't eat the missing part, cos if you did, you gonna die!

Really, probably not die but you'll get pretty sick. All of the Podophyllum is toxic. The fruit is edible when ripe (turned yellow) but it's still toxic in large amounts. It does have quite a few medicinal uses.

No, I can't tell you what they taste like. I'm not about to chance it. I don't eat fugu fish, either.
