Default What a launch!!!! SpaceX

We're fortunate in being able to watch Canaveral launches from our front yard. This mornings pre-dawn launch was nothing short of spectacular. A soft layer of scattered clouds lit up as the rocket headed to orbit. The rocket headed east as the sun was not quite peaking over the horizon. Later this year SpaceX will be testing their equipment for manned flights in the future. It never ceases to amaze me as to the exacting control needed to keep this thing headed upward.

If I had known how beautiful this shot was going to be, I'd have had the big cameras out. Missed opportunity!

We saw it too from our front yard in Melbourne, FL It was more visible than normal and worth getting video, but we didn't. During a daytime launch I just get an orange dot in the sky even if i use a good camera and zoom in.

Yep, did my normal routine this morning. Woke up, got the coffee going, and turned on the news just in time to see them doing the countdown. Walked out back and watched one of the best launches I have ever seen....and I've lived here for many years and have seen a bunch.

Good way to start the day.
