I've never been there, they tell me it's nice. I would think Ernest Hemingway's house would be something that would be on the must see list. Have fun, I'm sure it will be an interesting trip.

Hemingway`s house in Finca Vigia is about 40 minutes from the cruise line (i will assume you are going on a cruise) unless you will go in a rush.

Dont miss the whole old havana histircal part, Bodeguita del medio pretty small place but an icon of cuba. La catedral, the oldest church in havana or the famous one. Dont miss the 9:00 pm cannon boom to close the city's doors (19th century) el floridita, Hemingway's gateway bar not far from the historical part supposedly the best daiquiri. Let me know what you are interested in and will try to point it out. Have fun good luck. Be carefull buying cigars on the streets, make sure what you are buying.

Stop by Fusterlandia if you're nearby. It's interesting to see.

The good: Go see a cabaret show, drink a few mojitos and take a taxi ride in an old american car, walk around old havana and then head back to the ship. You won’t find cubans pushing Tshirts or anything else because they seriously have NOTHiNG. The bad: Buying cigars on the street is illegal. Cubans boil their water before drinking it, so don’t drink it unless you want to come home with more worms than a red grouper. Watch out for dog poo, nobody picks up. The building are all crumbling

Take a tour of the cigar Factory in Chinatown. Go to I think it's the floridita bar with Hemingway statue at the bar. Drink Cuba Libre"ha ha" and smoke cigars listening to the Jazz Band. Buy a few paintings from the art flea market. There's your day

I had an amazing time there a few months ago. My personal favorite was drag racing down the interstate in two old cabs. I have more pics to share if you're interested.

Thanks all, yes it a day stop on a 7 day cruise. I still need to do some research but I think I'm aiming for a half day private tour and the rest of the time on our own.
