The "builder to the stars"? Either way sorry about your friend.
Never easy to lose a friend, even tougher when it's sudden.

I also am sorry for your loss. I decided to get out of the small plane flying business partly because thunderstorms and small planes don't mix well together.

Crazy how a storm can cause such a chance in a persons life.

The cell to the East on LI is the one that did it, this is radar that ends at 2pm yesterday.

Failed to mention that the pilot was a good friend a great guy and surfing buddy and even though a liberal was one that you could still talk politics with. Just heard from the ex wife that the father of the grandson and the grad daughter where on another plane just ahead of them. Terrible for all.

DR sorry to hear about your loss, BK and his wife seemed quite a pair. Truly a community loss.

Reminds me of a crash lastyear in AL where a couple went down in their small single engine plane and sadly took their two children with them. Their son was in the same grade and buds with my youngest son. Truly a heartbreaking loss for our school and community. Losses like these are harder for some reason than medical/car wrecks etc.... so many unanswered questions I suppose...

Navajo/Chieftain/Mojave's don't just fall out of the sky with a little breeze. Those were dang good aircraft! None of that really matters I suppose, weather can knock superliners out of the sky as well. Thoughts with the family and loved ones!

A friend of mine was on the boat when the cell to the west of it came across the sound, he said it was the most intense 5 min storm he's ever seen. All hell broke loose and as fast as it started, it ended.
