Default Nespresso Machine Pods

Has anyone found a decent alternative to the "official" Nespresso pods which are quite pricey? There's a lot of options, and the reviews are not consistent. Some complain of pods blowing up in the machine, questionable quality, etc.

I have tried a few, some would jam up the machine, others tasted like crap.. i gave up and just order the real pods at nespresso.com now.
but i will be watching this post to see if anyone else had better luck with anything...

If it matters, I know the coffee buyer for Nestle professionally and personally. The effort and energy (on a corporate scale) that goes in to responsible sourcing of raw materials is nothing less than outstanding. Monitoring working conditions, pesticide controls, sustainability, etc. these are all Hallmarks of doing business with Nestle. They can be tough to sell to but they are by far my favorite customer.

It taste like real coffee not watered down instant coffee. The pressure makes the difference.

As for the generic pods, we though about ordering them but to save maybe $100 a year and possibly waste $60 on pods we wonít like, we just stuck with the Easyorder.

Also, it beats Betamax as the original line pods have come off patent. Thatís why they have the new disks.

you can not compare the two, nespresso is light years ahead in quality. I got a nespresso vetuoline a few years ago and never looked back. Great coffee.

Do yourself a favor and get an ESE pod machine. Then buy Cafe Borbone blue pods. The end.

You're welcome .☺

George Clooney would disapprove of bootleg coffee pods in your Nespresso machine.
I like my coffee well done and aged a few hours on the warmer. Nothing like Firehouse coffee made on a Bunn commercial unit and left sitting a while...black and bitter. Lol

L'or pods keep me happy. the coffe tastes and smells good, and the pods work well in the nespresso machine. like the nespresso pods they are made from aluminium.

I am on week 2 of switching from Keurig to Nesspresso. I now look down on, and snicker at, Keurig owners. What a difference!

There is a section on capsule alternatives about 2/3 of the way down here:

https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/be...resso-machine/

They looked at a couple of alternatives (definitely not an exhaustive review) but they use the phrase "least objectionable" to describe their winner.

Nespresso capsules run around $0.70 each - you aren't going to save that much $$.

Never heard of them till this thread. Did some googling and there is a wide selection. Would like to get a nice high quality one for my wifes B-day, which one do you suggest?

Yeah, the more I research, the more I'm finding there's really no close equivalent. I have both a Keurig and a Nespresso. Different types/styles for different times of the day and flavors.
