Default Anyone here have experience with a Service Mobility Dog? Family member disabled.

Good morning to all. Reaching out to the THT community here. I have a family member that is being severely impacted with Ataxia. This a a condition that affects the central nervous system and has impacted their ability to balance and walk. I mentioned a service dog to them and they are open to it. I did a quick search and their are groups online ofcourrse. Just thought I would reach out here as I have obtained some amazing help on various topics/situations over the years. Feel free to PM me if you prefer.

Live everyday to the fullest as tomorrow is not guaranteed,

Thank you everyone

My dad just got diagnosed with Ataxia. Seems worse first thing in the morning or at the end of the day when he is fatigued. Vigorous exercise seems to help. He has also just completed a round of PT to learn some other exercises to help. He is 72 and does CrossFit with me 3 days a week.

You might check with different comprehensive rehabilitation programs in academic medical centers. They often have resource information that they share. Here is a link to list of brain injury ( different diagnosis but similar need) service providers. It has a section of service dog resources. Good luck.
