Default GOVT Roam App Review

So far it sucks! I have to create an account and enter everyone's info via cell phone. What a pain in the *ss. Used to copy paste on a PC.

so far, it certainly looks like they are trying to save themselves work, not the user.

Walking over to a PC literally takes longer than entering the information into your cell phone. Which you only have to do once btw.

Does it eliminate the need for non LBO passengers to appear in person upon r3-entry?

I can’t answer the question about non LBO passengers, but I love the app.

I entered all the info into the app before I left for the Bahamas. All passengers were LBO, and related to me. When we returned, I reported in while 5 miles offshore of key largo. The app said “pending” for about 5 minutes, then processing for 1 minute; and then approved. No video call was necessary.

It did for my passenger. They did a video call and then gave us the all clear. Couldn't have been easier. This is way better than the old SVRS system IMO.

I've used the ROAM App twice in the past month. It is a big upgrade over the old SVRS system. You don't have to file a float plan before leaving. You can give the phone to your passengers and just have them upload their info. When you get back from your trip, you just select the passengers who have been saved on the app and the vessel info that was saved. Once you hit submit, the app goes into processing mode while an officer reviews your info. Then they do a facetime call and any passengers who are not LBO just have to take the phone and confirm that they are back in the US.

They have done a great job with this app. Maybe they could license this to the Bahamas for quick entry? Wishful thinking, I know.

I Use the app on a weekly basis and love it! very easy and quick!!! best thing they have come up with so far!

I know with svrs you were supposed to be at the dock when you called. I see people using the app before back to the dock. For those, what are you putting in the field that ask where are you now?

i used it Tuesday coming back from bimini and it took about 5 minutes from the dock, but i would really like to do this while idling back down the intracoastal.

i called svrs from a bar, ideling home, in the car in the way home from the ramp, the next day, at a gas station, they never seemed to care.
